Elvis Grbac: not so sexy
Here's a pretty funny story about Elvis Grbac that seemed worth sharing on a cold day before a bad football game.

And, of course, there's no better way to highlight Grbac's sexiness than a picture that emphasizes his bare feet all up on a lockerroom.

of course.

The title scared me, but I was curious so I clicked on it anyway. I am so ashamed....

and I don't care what anyone else says, THIS is sexy:

That does it for me!

One game I'll never forget and that will live in M football lore forever.

First he teases with that little short out action, than he goes soooo deep.

That was a good day.

The play that would make me a lifelong Michigan fan, starting at age 9. I guess I was generally aware of football to a much lesser extent before that game; had watched Bo's last Rose Bowl win with the old man while playing with my toys on the floor, but I was absolutely reborn with The Catch. That play instantly communicated everything I needed to see and hear to be fully convinced that football--Michigan football--had to become a way of life.

I was thinking "Oh, ƒ∪©♄, it's overthrown."
And then screaming, "OMG, he caught it!"
I believe Moeller was recorded as saying something like, "God, that kid is good!"
(Desmond caught the ball in the endzone on the right.)

Really strange seeing a Michigan QB actually have time to pump fake and then throw the ball. All of that without getting hit.

Great play - but that clip is too short. Here's one that does the whole play justice:

I cannot watch that play (how ridiculous!), all these years later, without throwing both my hands up in a celebratory arm gesture with the grin of an absolute idiot. I just did that. I was suddenly aware of the palpable and somewhat embarrassing power of nostalgia.

I agree. Love the longer version. I also chuckled considerably after seeing the guy in the pink shorts standing on the side of the end zone! What a play! I actually had my picture taken in Gattlinberg TN the next week at one of those photo shops that could take your face and super impose it on another picture. I put my face on Elvis Grbac body. He was in uniform throwing a pass.

If true, that is one of the funniest things I've read in a while...
November 20th, 2014 at 12:15 PM ^
I laughed. Thanks for posting this.

I never thought of Elvis in that manner.
November 20th, 2014 at 12:25 PM ^
so funny
his B1G championship rings make him sexy!
November 20th, 2014 at 12:27 PM ^
I had very little interaction with him, but my impression was that Elvis was a very humble and down-to-earth guy. So it's great he carries this title, however it happened to land in his lap.

When my Dad was younger and used to go to all the road games as well as home, he once got to meet not only Grbac but also his parents, I think it was at Purdue but may have been Indiana. Said they were great people. Hadn't known before that they were from Croatia.

I remember him being picked but never knew the backstory because it was such an off-the-wall choice by People standards. That was very funny and thanks to the OP for sharing it. Actually, the photo - feet and all - should be shared:

Wait, this picture is from when?!

So sexy that Ohio State let him have his way with them four straight times.
Well, three and a half actually. Let's see how you perform by the fourth time.

and conformist--come on! That guy is a bohunkus!!!

I remember being in high school and complaining how he threw too many low passes. I was so spoiled then. I'd kill for his occasional low pass now.
November 20th, 2014 at 2:33 PM ^
Besides his low passes, Elvis was also known for his passes to his imaginary 9 foot receiver, TacoPants.
...or was it Chad Henne? I get my hunky, throwing gods confused sometimes.
November 20th, 2014 at 4:16 PM ^
I think Taco Pants was when Chad Henne would overthrow Jason Avant
November 20th, 2014 at 4:44 PM ^
and catch it anyway.
November 20th, 2014 at 4:20 PM ^
He was a chick magnet that had serious game.
November 21st, 2014 at 10:56 AM ^
No /s? That is the most untrue thing ever written here. Ever. He was the opposite of a chick magnet. He was the polar opposite of the chick magnet - he was tall, skinny, awkward and had a bad complexion. mark messner got way more action that elvis did, and messner was no chick magnet.

Sexy is in the eye of the beholder. To me, all I think of when I think of Elvis Grbac is:
Michigan 1989-1992
- 38-7-3 Record
- 4 Big 10 Championships
- 3 Rose Bowls appearances
- 1 Rose Bowl Championship
- 2-2 Bowl Record
- 4-0 vs Ohio State
- 3-1 vs Michigan State
Now THAT is sexy....
Everybody has bad days. We don't look sexy every day and this is the truth. In my opinion, we should accept people the way who they are. You will get along better if you learn this rule. You can go here and start your way with a dating site. You will learn a lot
