There seems to be multiple sites handing out their own reviews, but the top 4 above are the ones getting the most attention, Brown & Klubnik probably being the tops.

Other invitees are Ty Simpson (Alabama), Nick Evers (Fla), Nate Johnson (Utah), Jacurri Brown (Miami), Katin Houser (MSU), Zach Pyron (Baylor), Tayven Jackson (Tenn), AJ Duffy (FSU), Holden Geriner (Auburn), AJ Swann (Maryland), Gavin Wimsatt (Rutgers), and uncommitteded Tevin Carter (Memphis, TN) and Luther Richesson (Nashville, TN).

The event is scheduled from June 30-July 3 in LA, California.  There are some interesting stats on their website:

12 of the past 13 quarterbacks to have won the Heisman Trophy attended the Elite 11 Finals or an Elite 11 Regional.

15 of the top 20 NFL passers in 2019 attended the Elite 11 Finals or an Elite 11 Regional.

Apparently Michigan has the inside track for 2023 5 Star QB Dante Moore. But I wouldn't be surprised if Texas A&M came swooping in with a bunch of NIL money, because he is the type of QB Jimbo Fisher has a thing for.

How the Joker reacts to NIL:

I used to like you but the BPONE is so deep in you that you're just kinda miserable.

While not recruiting on an epic level, most P5 conference schools would love to get a 4-star top 10 QB every year. I don't think the issue is who he is bringing in, it's the development has been poor at best.

Brandon Peters, 2016 (4 star, #6 pro style QB in class)

Dylan McCaffrey, 2017 (4 star, #5 pro style QB in class)

Joe Milton, 2018 (4 star, #9 pro style QB in class)

Cade McNamara, 2019 (4 star, #7 pro style QB in class)

JJ McCarthy, 2021 (5 star, #4 pro style QB in class)

So he took a promotion, took another promotion, and then didn’t get along with his boss and returned to his alma mater... I really don’t understand the whole “the longest he’s lasted at one location” narrative people attach to coaches. Coaches move a lot. They get fired, they take promotions, shit happens. A coach getting a better job every 3-4 years is usually a GOOD sign. Now people try to hold it against them.

The kid who won the throwing competition at the pro day was 3 star, Luther Richeson, he and Katin Houser both tied for first with 48 out of 50 points, but Richeson won the throw off.  Richeson's only power 5 offer was MSU and he's not committed.  Really think we should have kicked the tires on Richeson as he seems extremely talented.

The stats you included are a bit self-promotional by the event IMO.  There are around 20 QBs included in the finals each year — when you add in regionals I suspect that number approaches or exceeds 50.  If would be a pretty bad reflection of their scouting ability if they couldn’t hit those numbers when including close to half of the D1 QBs taken on scholarship each calendar year.

“12–24 of the nation's top quarterbacks have been selected to attend the Elite 11 Finals from 6 to 8 regional competitions held across the country, where over 400 quarterbacks compete and are evaluated.“

Seems to be well over 50. Pretty much anyone with D1 aspirations (many won’t play D1) has the opportunity to go to an Elite 11 regional. So the only players they “missed” in their stats either chose not to go or were injured and didn’t attend. Not a very impressive stat.

When is the last time we had an Elite 11 an work out for us on the field? I think I’m ok at this point with maybe taking a year off and seeing what the ones on our roster can do.

Well, Peters is at Illinois (and not exactly lighting the world on fire).  Shea was a good Big Ten QB if you look at his performance objectively.  We’ll see how McCaffrey and Milton do at their respective schools (were I to guess, McCaffrey is good for FCS, Milton doesn’t play).  McNamara looked good when he was healthy, and he’ll get a chance to prove himself this year.

I went to pick up my son from marching band practice last night and stumbled right into this event. My first thought was, “Wow, Mira Costa is going to have an AWESOME football team this season.” Then I saw the “ELITE 11” banner hanging in the end zone.

I watched probably 5 of the last 10 of these as I lived down the street from the event. These rankings are 100% subjective and mostly silly. Everyone there is quite talented.

a lot of area WRs come to run routes which is pretty cool. One year a few of the USC WRs were there including Smith-Schuester (sp?).

Yeah people take the event/rankings way too seriously. You’ll have QBs show out in the ranking and then never hear from them again in college, and you’ll have guys who didn’t even get invited that turn into stars.

Ultimately it’s a fun event that gets some additional scouting for these guys. But the rankings don’t mean much and the actual competition borders on silly at times.

Doesn't the Elite 11 regionals include kind of a lot of quarterbacks overall? Not trying to be a dick or take anything away from the kids or heisman winners or anything, but if the Elite 11 (which is actually 20) is supposed to be identifying the best of the best, and the regionals act as a bottleneck to weed out the invitees for the finals, isn't it kind of not at all surprising that a bunch of the most recent heisman winning quarterbacks were at this camp (either the regionals or the finals)? Seems like that is basically saying that a bunch of the most recent heisman QBs were among the top 60 or so QBs in their classes at the time...Not exactly mind blowing or surprising I don't think?

“12–24 of the nation's top quarterbacks have been selected to attend the Elite 11 Finals from 6 to 8 regional competitions held across the country, where over 400 quarterbacks compete and are evaluated.”

So yeah, basically the only way you play D1 football at all and DON’T attend at least an Elite 11 regional, is by choice/injury. So those are definitely some empty stats.

I should be terrified of Quinn Ewers but I’m not. There’s nothing he can do to Michigan that hasn’t already been done countless times over from Troy Smith on to Justin Fields.

Do your worst, punk. Nothing can hurt me anymore.

Here’s the final elite 11. Ewers, Allar, and Houser were named to the Elite 11 all from the Big Ten East.  Clemsons commit was named the MVP.

Luther Richeson is an uncommitted 3 star and made the list, he was the lowest ranked kid competing. He’s a stud and we definitely should have looked at him.
