This was reported a few days ago on The Michigan Insider, but surprisingly I didn't see it mentioned here.

Such a great Wolverine!  Wish all the best for Eli in the pursuit of his career.  Great that he got the invite and a chance to showcase his talents.

Eli has had arguably more impact on UofM basketball than any other player during his career.  I mean I’d pick Wagner, Dickenson,    And many other players first if I had to choose the best lineup, but Eli’s playmaking and outcomes are undeniable.

When you say during his career, do you mean during the timeframe of Eli’s career specifically (e.g. the last six years), or do you mean during whoever you picks career?

Over the last 6 years, there is a solid argument for Eli, but overall, I might throw out Zak Novak for being a key part of the years that finally turned the program around and built the foundation for where we are today.

I was thinking during Eli's six years.   Would you pick six years of Eli or one year of Caleb Houston, Mike Smith, Chaundee Brown, Diabate, etc?    Longevity gives him an advantage.

Two years of Franz or three years of Hunter and my assertion is less solid, but fortunately we don't actually have to pick.

I was sort of checked out of a lot of Michigan basketball from Tractor Traylor until the last bit of Zack Novac which lends credence to your argument.

It was five years, but yes Eli has been really valuable to the program. Hunter might have a case depending on what M does this year.  Simpson has a case given what Michigan accomplished during his three years that overlapped with Eli, all three of which he started.

Michigan hasn't had a team with a high usage star since Trey Burke's freshman year, although last year Hunter approached that level.  They've had success with depth.  So yeah, there isn't a guy that you'd obviously give the MVP to over Eli.
