The front 7 on defense will be very good. Mone would have made it even better. With Peppers and Lewis playing extremely well along with solid play from Wilson and Hill and the addition of Lyons we could have a very very good defense. Clark has emerged as well and may play opposite of Lewis. This could be a top 10-15 unit and carry us early in the season.

They are practicing against a top 20 caliber defense. That should help prepare them for the season. We are all jaded from the past 7 years. I think you can expect a lot of improvement this year.

I don't think they wanted to show much in the scrimmage to the students. Most runs were predictable for the defense. They didn't run any complex running plays. Everything was vanilla which was planned. I have heard that it is very important to the coaching staff to have the element of surprise for Utah.

Assuming we have a top 20 front seven - a relatively safe assumption given last year's production and guys returning, assuming everyone improves at least marginally - it's very good to hear that our OL looks good against them. It'd be hard not to project both of our lines to be towards the top of the conference, with the experience our starters have and the coaching each line has gained.

clearly outperformed Morris. Is that your assessment as well? Sounds like the handwriting could be on the wall.

Thanks for talking up the D Boyz! It was always the Michigan Defense that made us Michigan! That's why the RR years were so difficult . . .

Wait a minute. We don't have to figure out how to get the crew off the sub. He's already done that, he would have had to. All we gotta do is figure out what he's gonna do. So how's he gonna get the crew off the sub.
They have to want to get off. How do you get a crew to want to get off a submarine? How do you get a crew to want to get off a nuclear sub...

Figured the sub would surface this week.

This is some impressive long-haul submariner work by Harbaugh and the team really - we are only a week and a half out from the first game and only now do we get what looks like our first and only shot at some substantial statements (maybe) from anyone on the staff. I kind of thought the sub might surface a few times more, but it doesn't matter - I respect this approach all the same.
