Just getting it set up. No, it doesn't make the next 8 hours go any faster.  But here's hoping it's a short third of a day.

UT football quite a bit and I have to say that Terrance Owens (the backup) is a much better passer than Dantin (the starter). The problem is Owens makes dumb mistakes. He has the skill, just makes the immature mistakes that go along with a guy that has only played in like 9 career games. Dantin makes better decisions but doesn't have the talent. By conference play, I expect Owens will be the full-time starter.

Just look at what Owens did on that last drive. That's why. He gave UT the best chance to win at that time but made 1 mistake I caught. The read option where all the d-lineman and linebackers pulled to the RB. Instead of keeping it where he had 15 yards of nothing in front of him, he went safe and handed it off for a 4 yard gain on the 2nd to last play. I think Dantin would've kept it.

It's not like the OSU/Toledo game was flukey. Turnovers were even and Toledo gained more yards both overall and per down.

OSU got outgained by Toledo. They couldn't run the ball up the middle with any success. Bauserman didn't look good at all. OSU couldn't defend the screen at all. If a half decent team were to do this vs OSU, OSU would be lucky to keep it close.

The best part is the spin OSU fans are putting on it. They're now saying, "A win is a win, doesn't matter how ugly it is." Someone even posted on Hineygate, "Would anyone else be surprised if Toledo lost another game? They're that good." We all know if this were Michigan they'd be all over us. It's pathetic.

A win is all that matters. Close games against less talented teams are quickly forgotten, remember the UM-Ball State game in 2006, and losses to Toledo & App. St. Live on forever.

Wow, Iowa lost to Iowa State in overtime. Not sure if anyone else watched this game, but Iowa was absolutely struggling to contain ISU's QB. This bodes well for Denard in this year's matchup.

Im not usually the guy who complains about the officals, but those phantom penalties that were called was the reason toledo lost today. It was either a penalty that killed a toledo drive or one that kept a buckeye drive going. 102 yards in penalties for the rockets, 13 for ohio.

  • Tacopants has officially transferred to Ohio State.  I counted four Bausermann throws to Tacopants in the first quarter alone.  Braxton Miller never played--QB could be a serious problem for OSU this season.
  • OSU's special teams are almost as bad as ours.  The veteran field goal kicker is 0-4 this year.  Coverage on kickoffs is shoddy.  If Akron and Toledo both get the ball to their 40 yard line on kickoff returns, that's bad.  They did return a Toledo punt for a TD though.
  • Apparently OSU fans have never heard of Arethra Franklin, because she was the only RAWK song that did not send everyone into wild rhapsody (unlike Seven Nation Army or Hell's Bells, ugh).  RAWK and O-H-I-O frequently covered up the OSU marching band, which was oddly kind of the fans.
  • OSU is vulnerable to mobile QBs.  Most of Toledo's run yards came off of QB draws.  One went for a TD on 4th and 1 from the OSU 4.  That's very un-Silver Bullet-y of them.
