Not sure if any of these guys are Drew Henson but I don't see how both don't have that possibility. This will be a more lethal duo than Brady and Henson. You guys do realize that this offense could have the best person at just about every position by that time. It's shaping up like that. Joygasm.

Drew Henson was the most talented QB Michigan has recruited in my lifetime. If he had come back for his senior season he would have been the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. He was just an unreal talent.

Henson was off the charts talented.

While 5th year senior Brady was better than true sophomore Henson, true junior Henson was the best passing quarterback that has ever played at Michigan.  Better than Harbaugh, better than Grbac, better than Griese and better than Brady -- and it wasn't close.

Great decision maker.  Cannon for an arm.  Similar athleticism to Gardner, maybe a hair behind on this.  And as I recall, he's the last Michigan QB to win in Columbus.

The talk about him being the #1 overall pick was pretty common in the MSM (ESPN) when he left for the Yankees.

I've been attending games since the late 70's and the list of all time best offensive skill position players while at Michigan (college career, not pro) is probably AC, Woolfolk, Desmond, Wheatley, Biakabatuka and Henson.  (Maybe throw Braylon, Terrell, Perry and Hart in there as well.)

Somehow as good as Henson was he just didn't gave the confidence Brady exude when he was on the field. Brady just had something else there (an x-factor)... Maybe if Henson had came back he would have been on the same level but I certainly felt Brady was a much better QB (in his senior year) and that Orange Bowl performance against Alabama... made that 2 days drive from AA worth every single second.

I saw Henson and Brady played during my time so just my opinion. I sure wished Henson came back though.

I agree that when they were on the team at the same time, Brady looked better. But you'd have a hard time convincing me that Junior Henson was not better than Senior Brady, and I thought senior Brady was awesome.

Henson's Junior year was unreal.  If you go and watch some of Wolverine Historians videos of Henson I think you might change your mind.  He finally stayed and moved in the pocket rather than tucking when his 1st or 2nd reciever was covered. He had an unbelievably quick release and could put the ball anywhere. He did have an amazing recieving core and line, but he also took advantage of it. Really wish he would have come back his senior year with Terrel with a more veteran defense. Could have been special.

TRUTH

Brady as a fifth year senior was better than true sophomore Henson.  And Brady was great in late game situations (see Penn State and Alabama).

But junior year Henson was an entirely different animal. And his stats look ridiculous, but when you realize that he was hurt for the non-conference schedule and missed a couple of cream puffs that would have made his stats even better.

Henson suffered from a defense that couldn't hold a lead against Purdue and Northwestern -- and LC taking his foot off of the gas when we got up by 18 points in both games.

while at UofM. I defended him when he started for the Patriots his first year by listing off his game against Alabama and his 200+ yard 4th quarter against State. I thought he could have a decent career in the NFL as a backup who would get 1-3 years where he started as a consistent steady player. Even my blue tinted glasses never possibly assumed he'd have multiple super bowls and be one of the best ever. I did think Henson could be pretty special, especially after his game against Purdue and Drew Brees.

If you are a Pro-style QB where could you go that is a better situation?

I honestly can't think of another option that is better.

Stanford?  Good but not better.

UCLA?  As always with UCLA, the potential is there but it is yet to be realized.

USC?  Too much flux.

Allabama?  LSU?  FLorida?  Meh.  Certianly nowhere in the SEC.

Texas?  Even Texas can't answer that.

Oklahoma?  Texas Tech?  OK State?  Good for college, but not really a better situation to get you into the NFL.

If you anazlyze the whole package, you would want to go to Michigan.

I would argue FSU has a pretty decent track record during Jimbo Fisher's tenure of producing QB's who are drafted high (regardless of future NFL production). But I agree with your assessment of the teams already mentioned, none of them touch what Harbaugh can do for a pro-style QB.

Jimbo has produced a bunch of 1st round QB's going back to JaMarcus Russell at LSU but almost all have been busts in the NFL. Kind of telling his star QB Jameis Winston came to work with Harbaugh to prepare for the draft/combine and not stay at FSU.

There is one caveat I would give. If I was looking at where to go, and Michigan had a freshman who just completed a very successful year at QB, I'd think, do I want to go there? We always hear that the best kids aren't afraid of competition. Which is true. But if I saw that I was probably going to redshirt the next year (behind said freshman), and quite possibly be on the bench the next two after that, I'd think long and hard about whether or not I wanted to do that. Say, for instance, that Peters beats everyone out, and has a stellar year. Do I still want to come to Michigan? Maybe not. In this case, McCaffrey is going to come regardless. But if and when Harbaugh finds "his guy," that may change the dynamic for HS QB's looking at where they want to go.

This does not surprise me because he is damn good. Harbaugh wouldn't artificially make him win either because he is too crazy about good ole' competition. What does surprise me though is that Sitkowski wasn't even in the top 5 performers list. I would have assumed McCaffrey and Him would have been #1 and #2.
