(Dylan) Kekoa Crawford to wear the #1 jersey, Rashan Gary #3
Elysee Mbem-Bosse tweeted a video of the Schembechler Hall lockers just a few minutes ago.
It appears Kekoa Crawford will be the first freshman WR to wear #1 since David Terrell in 1998.
Rashan Gary wearing #3 is also confirmed

You watch his film and see our WR depth after this year?
Crawford will stick at WR and play immediately.

RR didnt know shit about Michigan nor was he an All American who played at UM. Rich Rod sucked, get over it.
I don't think it was that big of a deal on this message board. It was more Braylon himself being mad.
Actually, RR was pretty much untouchable here for most of his tenure - it was only after 2010 PSU that criticizing him became acceptable.
It was never an issue to me personally. I was just clarifying why it was considered a "controversy."
You seem obsessed with throwing a pity party for RichRod. Let it go man.
You've regularly dropped these "But what about RichRod..." posts into Harbaugh discussions.
And you're wrong anyway. Braylon wasn't mad at RichRod for giving it to a freshman. He was mad at him for giving it to a DB.
his first season that Rich Rod won in three seasons.
Which is to say, you can expect fans to give Harbaugh a longer leash. Even when it comes to distributing jersey numbers.
I don't know why you keep saying this. Most Michigan fans were in RichRod's corner when he was here. And this site in particular was extremely favorable to him.
You've constructed this narrative of Michigan fans persecuting RichRod that just isn't very true. Yes, there were some ex-players and such that didn't like the hire. But the fans gave him a chance. It was three years of losing that wore people down.
I always kind of liked that only select players could wear the #1 and #2 jerseys...but with Harbaugh in charge and obviously the influence Bo has on his coaching style, this is just another example that no one man will be bigger than the team and therefore all numbers will be open to anyone. And like someone said above I would rather see the numbers on the field than never see them

Actually it's been a receiver's number since Anthony Carter wore it (1979-82). The others to wear it have been Greg McMurtry, Derrick Alexander, Tyrone Butterfield, David Terrell, Braylon Edwards and Devin Funchess.
There have been lots of great WRs who didn't wear it - Desmond Howard, Tai Streets, Jason Avant, Manningham. It's a receiver's number but not necessarily the ultimate proof of excellence.
Except for when he was smoking weed with Crable before the App State game...but outside of that tiny detail...
After re-reading my comment I am still under the impression that I cited nooooobody

Bentley Search for #1 Jersey Wearers with the Shrinks
The burden was so great upon both Tyrone Butterfield and David Terrell that each shrunk an inch after their freshman year.
more compact? Based on the sample, all freshman shrink an inch after their Freshman season.

I always kind of liked that only select players could wear the #1 and #2 jerseys..#2 hasn't really been like that. Since Woodson, it's been worn by a safety (June), an outside linebacker (Crable) a running back (Vincent Smith) and then another DB (Countess).
Oh yes, good call.
Single digits on the Dline, I like it.
Gary wearing #3 is pretty awesome.
Brandon Graham's number. 3 is a DB's number. The first guy who comes to mind is Todd Howard.
List of every #1 in Michigan history.
