They will probably have some big'ish release event to show off the new uniforms. Warde alluded to something like that a few weeks ago.
My guess is they'll do it the first day of the new contract (August 1st I believe). Even though the contract with Adidas is ending, I doubt they can still do a big Nike promotion event before that. Would be like publicly celebrating with your secret mistress the day before your divorce is finalized. Nothing good can come from it.
Meant more in the contractual sense. In some states, if it comes out that you cheated on your wife prior to the divorce being final, the wife can go after you for everything. If the GF remained secret throughout the split, you can still keep half of your stuff.
In a non metaphor sense, there is likely language in the Adidas contract that forbids Michigan from publicly wearing or promoting another company's clothing while under contract. Which is probably why you haven't seen much of anything yet. Even though everyone knows Michigan is switching to Nike, I doubt they throw a big party promoting Nike gear while Adidas is still technically paying them. That seems like grounds for a breach of contract lawsuit to me.
And since only diehards like WD are waiting on the Aug 1 date, Michigan will probably just do the event on that day since there is really no difference or benefit to doing something on July 24th vs. August 1st.
Over the Holiday?
WD probably has an Ocean's Eleven level scheme to get into the Mden warehouse and take pictures before the official release so just wait for him. Surprised we haven't heard of someone parachuting onto a cargo ship from Asia to look for Nike containers with Michigan stuff yet to be honest.
The lack of info is frustrating me to the point of annoyance with the department. I'm very impatient.
MDen is going to be having sneak peaks of gear sometime this month.
I read that the tickets have the uniforms on them so maybe that'll be the release? Whatever.

if you HAVE to have current home/away/alt of Football & Basketball that can add up pretty quickly. Honestly I'm fine with my '97 era home & away football jerseys just because they are my favorite versions anyway, and they have held up well enough that I haven't needed to replace them. But I understand the desire to stay current.

Advertising how much money you'll be spending at a specific time and place isn't always the smartest move. You're a fairly recognizable dude and an incredibly easy target.
