Don't liveblog the OSU game

Submitted by jmblue on
I don't care how irrational an argument it is. The fact of the matter is that in both basketball and football, we usually lose when this site hosts a liveblog. An incredible coincidence? Perhaps, but I don't want to risk it. Don't host one next week.

As a superstitious person, this might not be a bad idea... I mean in this way, everyone can just watch the game and root for the (hopefully not) last game to go well.

I agree with that we shouldn't have a liveblog, just because it seems to lead to a lot of irrational posts and doesn't really add too much to the game. The only real argument for it, IMO, is that it allows people a chance to follow the game, if they don't getit on TV.

i remember this same thread last march when we were making our bball tourney push... and someone actually posted the statistically significant correlation between liveblog and not winning... so in total agreement

Michigan became #1 in all time wins and winning percentage because we didn't have liveblogging in our history!!! After liveblogging, not a good record. I bet there is no liveblogging tonight for the basketball game, so we should have excellent results!

So anyway, what's the verdict? Are we going to be liveblog-free tomorrow? The power of the Liveblog Jinx should never be underestimated.
