I should say, my season ticket says $75. Mgoblue is selling them for $70 - $95, depending on location - see here. Can even get them as low as $55, if you buy 50 or more tickets.

The first game really does not mean anything to me this year. After we stomped CMU last year 59-9, I thought for sure we were on our way to the Rose Bowl. I truly expect us to win like 41-13, and it really won't make me feel any more confident in the season. Truth be told, I know I'm overlooking a few games, but I think the first time I'll feel good about the season is if we are 8-0 or 7-1 after East Lansing.

If we leave East Lansing at 7-1 or 8-0, I fee confident we will head to Columbus 10-1 at worst.

Here is my off the wall take......

I am a big believer in Karma.  Needless to say, ever since the Horror I Michigan football has been in a funk.  (From deep funk - the RR era - to the recent funk).  The program has not just been where we want it to be.  So, this August 30th, while not erasing the stain from 7 years ago, can be viewed as a bookend to a down cycle of the program.

IF Michigan goes out and drops 70 on App St., that could be viewed as a team that is A) Significanly better than its opponent and B) Hungry enough to just want to drill anyone that gets in their way.  OK, I will take my rose colored sunglasses off now......

With that being stated, I am more interested in getting key wins:

1) On the road against quality competition (ND, MSU, Ohio)

2) Getting multiple wins in October and November - No more end of the year swan dives....

Oh geez. The alumni association memberships didn't both me, but this does. Probably only because 10 years ago, this would never have happened.

see the Horror I...I was living in Bloomington, IL at the time and the game was not on TV, so I was following on Gamecast (I mean, literally watching those red and black bars go back and forth).  Then, as it was telling me Michigan was lining up for a field goal, it froze!!!  Well, good thing ESPN showed the replay a million times.  I will watch this one because it is the opener.  But, the rest of the noon slate certainly is appealing...do I flip between Delaware and Pitt or Youngstown and Illinois?  Maybe Indiana State and Indiana?  Decisions decisions.

My thoughts on it are mixed. First, Michigan has totally priced me out of going. Used to go to the home opener and a second game every year until the huge price jump. Haven't been to a game in over two years now. That said, this package made it possible for me to go and make what would have been at least a $105 trip for me before gas (hour south of Chicago) to a very manageable one. So, I'm glad for that. Also, the best-ever seats I were at my second-ever game...The Horror, which were $55. Nice to be able to get tix and the other perks 7 years later for roughly the same price.

On the other hand, I hate supporting the matchup and am saddened by how far the program has fallen. If we can't even sell out an opening game, we're in trouble. We've laughed at the near-begging that the AD has resorted to, but it does make me sad to think of where the program is headed under the current administration.

No matter the case, above all I support the uniform (*insert uniformz joke here*) and will be there to support the guys wearing it, regardless of whatever the H Dave Brandon is trying to do.

Go Blue.

I think it's time to stop with the "Horror" and "shame" and all the other PTSD labels.  Yeah, the game sucked seven years ago.  I was there and had a great angle of Gingell's kick getting blocked.  But seriously . . . some of you act like it was a death in the family.  Let the hurt go already.

It's time to give all the negativity a rest.  It's mid-August and the opener is two weeks away.  It's a new season.
