We knew this has been in the works for decades and I still think it’s sad. I have a shoe box full of old stubs I am so proud of. Ticket stubs give you the ability to time travel back to a happy moment, like my first game at The Big House or VH in 1984 that digital tickets lack. I love the ease and convenience of e tickets but find myself incredibly nostalgic on this one.

Ease?   Convenience?

Hope the system works better than it did for basketball.   I had persistent trouble downloading my tickets from the app.    From the looks at the ticket window close to my seats at Crisler I wasn't the only one.

The old system was pretty easy and convenient:   tickets arrive in mail, bring to game, show ticket taker.

such a bummer, I have 4 check book boxes of ticket stubs from sporting events, concerts, and even some international flight boarding passes going back to 1991. I guess there won't be a 5th box.

I know what you mean.  My friends uncle at Bauer, Dunham & Barr used to do the designs for the tickets and the cover of the Gameday Program. A few years ago they started doing both in house.

More disappointing to me was last year when they did ONE single Gameday Program opposed to a different one for each home game.  I would print a stat page after the games and put that in the program with the ticket stub. I have a collected a few boxes of those over the years.

I don't mind taking my phone (I've been called for storm work - which happens in my profession - while I was at the stadium even, which I normally politely decline in that situation, of course).

I don't even mind digital tickets. The athletic department just needs to be sure that 110,000 or more of us (counting folks in the boxes, guests, etc...) can actually get to the necessary information on our phones on the provided network infrastructure and without holding up lines.

Now, ask me about cashless concessions - I do grow annoyed by that. I personally don't like having tiny little charges like that on cards, and overpriced and underwhelming as they generally are, I would rather pay for a soda and something which resembles a light snack with cash. I do understand why many vendors like this route better, however.

As someone who has kept every ticket stub from every sporting event I’ve ever been to (1994, Tigers), I opted for the paper tickets.

I had Delta virtual tickets on vacation recently. On our way home, I pulled into the Airport for our 5 AM flight and my phone was black and would not turn on. My wife had the tix on her phone so we were ok, but I had a few anxious moments. After we got home, I went to the Apple store and I had overcharged my phone. They hit the volume up, down then off button and my phone restarted. I had tried this at the airport several times but you have to do it just right to make it restart. Anyway, I will be having these tix on more than one phone entering Michigan Stadium
