In his first year in the league, he goes first team all NBL, wins a title and receives the equivalent of the Finals MVP.

Congratulations Derrick.

Senior Derrick Walton was just unstoppable. Id slot that season between freshman Trey and sophomore Trey. This is great news bring home all the MVPS DWalt!

Dug finally broke down the D last night on a beautiful dish to Hunter. That to me was the chefs kiss on the season. I have no worries about his shot but can he get us 5-6 easy baskets a night just like that? Point guard play like that is what turns an 18 win season into a 22 win season. Very excited to see him for the next few seasons.

google machined an article about the game.  won the 5th game of a 5 game series in front of a record crowd.  the article mentions andrew gaze, and some of us will remember he was the seton hall sharp shooter we beat in '89 to win the title.

anyway, a link: https://www.foxsports.com.au/basketball/nbl/nbl23-sydney-kings-claim-second-consecutive-championship-after-comeback-victory-over-new-zealand-breakers/news-story/4746218908fe7ead0c7fe467f25b889d

down most of the game, tied after 3, and won it going away.

Derrick Walton Jr. is a MVP type player.  He makes his teammates better.  I was at the Big Ten Tournament in 2017 and proudly chanting MVP when he was announced.

Congrats to Derrick.

He was so awesome at Michigan. We were really spoiled having PGs like Burke, Walton and Simpson. I think Dug can be up there too.
