Denard: Walter Camp Player of the Week
According to tweet from Joe Schad
Denard Robinson and Aldon Smith are Walter Camp Players of Week
Sure to be the first of many honors for Robinson this year. FWIW, Smith, a DE from Missouri had 10 tackles, 3 TFL (2 sacks) and a QB Hurry against Illinois.
EDIT: Also, text VOTE to 345-345 to vote for Denard as the AT&T Player of the Week. Voting opened this morning.

That was a ridiculous game. All he needs to do is get 400 yards of offense each week for the rest of the year.

...I'd say that's totally unreasonable. Luckily, he's flash dilithium.

Even though it might have been slightly "bushleague", I was really hoping that the offense would have stayed full throttle long enough for DRob to get 200 yards passing and 200 yards rushing.
That would have been sweet.

with a defensive backfield like ours. We may have gotten lucky with the wind yesterday.

for the sake of a stat.
It's a long season, and at yesterday's rate, DRob will be tackled ~340 times this season. No need to turn him into Chris Perry MSU 2003.

I'm just so proud of Denard, the O-Line, the receivers, tight ends. Everything worked well and you can tell the team chemistry is there. Great play calling. The defense stepped up when they had to. Everyone has a hunger going right now. Hard Edge! Let's keep it up. Tough game against ND, but we'll be ready. We need to bring the heat against Crist!

Denard is the best recruiter michigan has right now. guys will see what he can do, and want to be a part of that. all the national attention only helps. another great game by him next week.....maybe some more Hello--- posts.

Denard is a great ambassador of the program. This was true even before yesterday, and he deserves all the positive accolades coming his way. Hopefully he can keep it up next week against ND.

Good for Denard. He deserves it after yesterday.
On a side note, I thought this was a good point made by Gregg Doyel on his Twitter (I know, first time in my life I've agreed with anything he's said):
Just being real, but if Terrelle Pryor EVER had the kind of #'s Denard Robinson put up today, he'd be given the Heisman in the media

I wonder what Florida fans think of his performance. Meyer didn't think Denard was good enough to play QB.
September 5th, 2010 at 12:38 PM ^
The only way to stop him is to injure him. The scary thing is, he's still learning. We've got almost 3 full years left from him. I can't see how he won't be considered for the Heisman before he leaves us. Not saying this year, but by his senior season.

DRob is still VERY young. Both in chronological age and in QB experience. I hope we, the media, and all UM fans give him time to grow. He will screw up and make mistakes, some of which might cost us a game. We need to be happy with what the team and he can do right now and be patient knowing that his best years are yet to come.

Anyone else notice that the AT&T Player of the Week graphic was Terrance Taylor pounding Tim Tebow? (Neg me if this isn't the first year they've done the graphic)
September 5th, 2010 at 1:14 PM ^
he deserves it. he didnt have the best numbers of any person who played this week, but lets be honest we played a tough team and made them look mediocre
September 5th, 2010 at 1:50 PM ^
Other big name players put up lesser stats against lesser competition yesterday.
I hope UConn wins the rest of their games this year. It will make this win look that much better going forward.

It was the best single game QB performance I've ever seen at MICH
I keep thinking it over, but nothing else really stands out

Donovan McNabb 1998.
You have probably been more successful than me at banishing the memory.

As much as I would love for a repeat performance against ND, I hope a few of those 29 rushes become passes or handoffs to the RBs. Denard is just too valuable to subject to that many hits again.

...statistic:
PDBuckeyes Michigan QB Denard Robinson 29 carries for 197 yds; other 10 Big Ten starting QBs, 70 carries for 160 yds
