Ray, after gambling away the boys' drink money: "Lost all the liquor money, boys."

Julian: "What?"

Ray: "That's the way she goes."

Bubbles: "That's the way she goes?"

Ray: "That's right - that's the way she goes. That's what I said - "

Bubbles: "So you lost all our drink money is what 'she goes' - she's gone."

Ray: "That's right - that's the way she goes. Sometimes she goes, sometimes it doesn't. She didn't go. That's the way she goes."

Bubbles, being interviewed moments later: "It was gonna be the best night ever, now it's the worst night ever. Fuckin' 'way she goes', he said, fuckin' way she goes..."

Bad timing for him because it looks like he was about to reach the ball out for the touchdown. Hopefully he'll learn quickly that in the NFL ball security is more important than the extra yard. If he goes down short of the end zone it's a great gain, but he tries to do a little more and it hurts him.

He looked pretty dejected walking back to the sideline, from most accounts, and I do feel bad for him being that close. Unfortunate ending (on a good defensive play) aside, the 25-yard run brought back some pretty nice memories of similar runs, many with excellent results.

If he isn't chased down the ball couldn't have been stripped.  If you're Not For Long managment, which concerns you more, that Denard is being chased down or that he has fumbleitis?

but he was just starting to extend the ball as he got near the goal line.  Not that it makes it any better, but you do see that instinct kick in for a lot of players near the endzone-- the temptation to stick it out is just too great to overcome.  I don't think it was a straight strip of the ball is my point.

They are making fun of this over at elevenwarriors.  I looked up stats for buckeyes in the NFL and the only one doing anything on offense right now is Brian Hartline.

You gotta carry the football in the outside arm.  He took the handoff going to his right so wouldn't the natural tendancy be to carry the ball in his right hand?  If so then he deliberately switched to his left.  His ulnar nerve must still be giving him issues.

A surprising number of running backs don't make a conscious effort to put the ball in their outside arm.  You'd think that that would be one of the first things they learn.

On Denard, I think by now it might just be a habit.  If I recall, he usually carried the ball in his left hand even before the nerve injury.
