....about his promise to his brother, who passed away.

We won't be seeing another student/athlete like this young man for generations.

Some people remind you why you are so proud to be a Wolverine! I thought for a moment he might start quoting, "The Team! The Team! TheTeam!" GoBlue!

public speaker but he truly hit a home run with his speech today at the Big Ten luncheon. For a person who is not comfortable being in the public eye he showed class, he showed that opportunities exist if you work hard, and he showed that parenting was important in his life. He represented his university and himself very well today. What a character guy and I am proud to be a fan of his. Every coach in the room should have hugged the man. Denard Robinson. Big Stage, Big Ten. Go Blue.

This nearly brought me to tears. I see so much of my personal story in his speech. Denard I pray to god you do the impossible and make a great nfl qb.
I'm praying he beats the odds. What a phenomenal kid.

I never played hockey in front of more than a couple thousand at a time but it is strange how I could never just speak to a crowd that big without getting extremely nervous. Denard just made me feel better

Plenty of young men aren't polished speakers, but go on to become so with practice.  He might not be offered a spot on ESPN after his playing days are over, but I'll bet he gets offered a few coaching jobs.  Then again, this is Denard, and I would never count him out.  I would imagine that if he wants to go on television, he will learn the skills he needs, and do it.

The media won't have a slurp-fest like they did last year with Kirk Cousins, but the fact that he was asked to deliver the keynote speech and did it is impressive, especially considering his beginnings.

There are slightly over 1,000 Big Ten players on scholarship this year, and Denard was the one selected to give the keynote speech.  I would bet that anyone at his old high school would be proud of that accomplishment.

My top five favorite people I have never met:

(1) Denard Robinson

(2) Brady Hoke

(3) Scott Mescudi

(4) Blue in South Bend

(5) Fred Bird - the mascot

You have to love Denard... You can tell he was beyond nervous and was really working hard to try and relax and slow it down. He's one guy I really hope goes on to do great things after he's left Michigan.

These last few groups of guys over the last few years really seem to be for the most part real standup genuine guys. Makes me proud to be a part of it all even of its just an extremely small part in the grand scheme of things...

Very few people, athletes, or whatever, in todays world come across so true and honest. He is without a doubt an extremely humble and respectful guy. I am totally honored to say he is our quarterback. I can't express how much I hope for his success, not just for Michigan, or the team, but maybe more so for himself and his family. Go Blue!

Denard is a class act all the way around.  Love the guy,  but not on the field vs ND.  You got a one in a million kid there.

What an amazing speech.  It sounds like he's really grown-up at Michigan, and, as many have said, his comments were very touching.

No matter what happens this year, I'm going to miss Denard.  He is truly a Michigan Man.
