decidely OT: Wedding Song Advice
Friends @ MGoBlogosphere,
A good female friend of mine is getting married and she has canvassed my wife and I related to romantic music for the first series of dances at her wedding. I advised Ben Folds "The Luckiest"; please weigh in with opinion/options.
Thanks everyone.
I think it's by Gary PUckett
The former center fielder for the Twins became a musician? Go figure.
We did Southern Cross by CSNY because it was one of our traveling songs and it reminded us of sailing trips in the Caribbean.
10 years later, I think we'd change it to this:

"All I Need" by Mat Kearney

Saw the thread title and immediately thought, 'Ben Folds, The Luckiest.' Good choice. It was my pick for my wedding song, but the wife vetoed it, so we went for some song she wanted that I don't even remember now. *le sigh*
"Storybook Love" by Mark Knopfler, from the Princess Bride soundtrack. Knopfler can't sing worth a damn, but it's still a worthy choice.
was played at my rehearsal dinner. But the marriage only lasted 5 months. So...
"Tangled Up in You" by Staind. I told my buddy to listen to it and it will be his wedding song. He picked it. Beautiful song.

Nobody has even jokingly mentioned "Bad Romance"?
these days? Seems like the noise a wounded giraffe would make. (Trying hard to pretend I don't find it catchy.)
In fact I'd suggest only playing Taylor Swift the whole reception.
Maybe '97 Bonnie and Clyde or Kim by Eminem?

Joshua Radin - I'd Rather Be With You...not too slow, not too fast, perfect lyrics.
There is only one choice.
What's Love Got To Do With It.
don't confuse the Ben Folds song with their biggest single.. "Brick"... that would NOT be a good wedding song.
was "Wonderwall" by Ryan Adams
