I've encountered my fair share of Vol alums and they are still pissed about it....which makes no sense when you realize Payton wasn't even the best at his position, let alone the best in the country over all positions.

It is well known that in 1997, Nebraska finished 4 points higher than Michigan in the final Coaches Poll. For that to happen, either two coaches voted Michigan #3 or one voted them #4. The belief is that it was Fulmer who voted Michigan #4. Unconfirmed, but not denied.

Being here in the thick of VOL territory I get blasted about UT beating UM back in 2002, whenever they bring that up I always bring up the Heisman. People out here get really mad when that is brought up, but they don't keep talkin about the UT UM game either! Always fun to do that!

Best of luck to him, and Tennessee is a big stage with a pro-style defense which is what it seemed like he wanted. So I hope he does well since he's not going to be a little brother.
