DE Justice Finkley leaves off Michigan from top 3
Definitely a surprise since it was thought that Michigan led in this recruitment and both Sam Webb and Brice Marich put in strong crystal balls to Michigan after victors weekend. This is disappointing but hopefully the staff can put in a full court on one of their other targets
Well, that's a dud firework.
Agreed. I imagine the staff is going to really push for TX DE Joseph Adedire now. The front page article suggested that SC DL Robby Harrison would be pushed for if they miss on Finkley but I thought that he was more of a product of missing on Phillips.
So, Twitter rumor is that he measured 6’ flat when he visited and the coaches told him they wanted to use him on the interior, but he wants to play edge. Take it for what it’s worth.
Going from leading to not even making the top 3 is strange. Even stranger is that Michigan got replaced by powerhouse Colorado. Good start to the day.
I believe there is a family connection to Colorado. Like his dad played there or something.
Finkley is Einhorny.
Somehow we all Nua this would happen.
Give him some credit, he has been a valuable asset to UCLA's graphics department.
Shaun of the DEad?
Not being chosen over Alabama is expected . Even over Texas isnt too terrible.
Being thought of less than Colorado , that really hurts .
it only hurts if you think The Brand carries the weight it used to
Feels like Nua’s days are numbered….Heck, give me Lamarr Woodley there and I’d be more excited. I know there are more qualified DL coaches out there, but Nua just seems like a MAC level option at arguably the most critical coaching position.
Whether it's Nua or not I can't say for sure...... but D Line recruiting is going very badly.
I know there are more qualified DL coaches out there
I'm thinking the same thing.
Brady Hoke is a bad head coach.
Brady Hoke would be a great DL coach.
Unfortunately, he will remain a bad head coach at mediocre programs.
Maybe he would walk here to coach DL? I would take him to coach DL in a heartbeat. The man can recruit the (defensive) big uglies and coach em up.....
Last year’s DL class was strong. Three 4* and one high 3*and a lunch pail guy.
Woodley? He's not even a coach. Wait, name checks out.
Huge dong punch. We were supposed at or very near the top for him. You can't positive spin this one away.
Oh don’t worry, the Harbaugh apologists will find a way.
They always do. But summer hype is typically unrealistic. Reality will set in soon enough
What does this have to do with whether or not Harbaugh should have his job?
Your distain for Harbaugh has reached the point where you bring him up for no reason, because one recruit leaves Michigan out of his top 3. Y'all are almost like the LeBron haters on Twitter.
Sha'carri Richardson Suspended for Testing Positive for Weed...
"...LeBron would never."
Bitch, no one asked you about LeBron. ?
Fuck does this have to do with Lebron fans on Twitter.
Fail. I just explained what it does.
Nice try though...
But you can just shrug and move on with your day like a well-adjusted adult.
I'm sure you did last year when we went 2 - 4.
Lol, what, were you incapacitated the rest of the day? Even after the humiliating, infuriating loss to MSU, I was like welp, gotta throw in a load of laundry and go on a Meijer run.
I have a horrible, painful infatuation with Michigan football, but it's good to remind myself that these are 18-22 year olds trying their best.
I agree with your last sentence completely. These are young men who are trying their best. Given the last 6 yeats, it is the coaching that I'm questioning and down on.
Harbaugh was not a Brady Hoke caliber coach, he was much more successful, hell, he built Stanford and took a team to a Super Bowl! However, his tenure here is muddled at best and disappointing at worst.
Agreed
And this has what to do with 2-4?
Please tell me how there is a correlation. Hell, tell me in German if it's easier.
You're reaching.
I will explain it to you slowly....
Exactly.
Go sit down until you have an actual point. Not a gif of a bunch of middle fingers. ?
I'm sure we'll be in early on some 5.6 (rivals) 3 star that no one has heard of yet because of the Covid. To replace this one.
that outta do it . . .
Did he say we were were one of his top schools, I don’t recall him ever saying we were a leader
Tough couple of weeks for Sam Webb.
Sam Webb can't control what other teams do to turn a kid's mind. He gives his thoughts on the information available to him at the time. Situations change. I think he's still a pretty reliable source.
This take above is why they make the money. It’s the weatherman defense “Things are fluid” when wrong and “I told you” when they are right.
Meteorologists use data and computer models to make predictions, while Sam Webb talks to coaches and players who are in the middle of a decision process influenced by many competing factors. Though often wrong, weather predictions are probably more reliable.
He seems to be turning into Tom Loy.
Sadly, they are equals on our boards.
I would not want to know where I am on those boards.
Full disclosure: Sam Webb is at 96.77% on crystal ball picks in the 2022 class.
I was on his side when I said that. It's been tough for him.
I think Sam is awesome when it comes to covering Michigan recruiting and sports and I always love listening to him on the radio, but when it comes to his predictions, the only ones I pay attention to are his gut feelings.
Well...you can pay attention to his crystal balls most of the time, too.
Magnus is the voice of reason in recruiting.
We cooled on him, obviously
Which of these three don't belong? Bama...won half the NCs this decade and have the #1 or #2 recruiting class every year. Texas...one of the most storied programs with one of the most talented states for recruiting times who always have the chance at a top 5 class if they ever show up. Then, Colorado. It reminds me of the time they talked about Delaware in Waynes World.
FWIW, Finkley's parents are Colorado fans.
So it's like Walter Nolen with Michigan. The Father's Day tweet with his dad led some to think he's going Michigan. But all I've been seeing since is Alabama, with Florida in second, and Georgia a slight chance in a distant third. The tweet on Fathers Day was just in honor of his dad, who now wants him to go Michigan.
