What are the biggest recruiting needs for the team?

To my layman knowledge,

- an outside Jumbotron WR? Would like to get someone like ND's Boykin. Throw the fade and let him make play.

- DT. Because you can't have enough. Penetrating DT FTW!

- OT...because - we all know our history.

Essentially those are the current needs to round out the class.  Would also say another LB as they took only 1 last year and have only 1 commit this year.

They have 1-2 high level targets left for each of those positions but beyond that there aren't many names on the board.

Not sure Wide Receiver is a very pressing need in this class. I think we'll take an outside guy if we have the chance, but Giles Jackson and George Johnson should be intriguing options as a slot receiver, and Quintel Kent looks pretty good and should be fine on the perimeter. If they can get Kyle Ford or Cornelius Johnson or possibly David Bell, I think they'd take them, but I don't think it's a priority.

I think DT should be fine too. Chris Hinton will probably play there, Mazi Smith is a quality player, and Mike Morris and Tyrece Woods are both projects that will be interior defenders.

OT is definitely a major need. They're going to get Trevor Keegan as long as they don't sputter down the stretch, but Bryce Benhart would be a huge addition as well.

Linebacker is another big one. Charles Thomas is a solid player but either needs to add a bit of size or gain a bit of quickness depending on which spot they're projecting him too. Velasquez I think would be a terrific WILL backer, but we have 10 linebackers currently on the roster. Furbush is graduating, Devin Bush and Khaleke Hudson will have NFL Decisions to make, Glasgow and Gil will be seniors next year as well. So I think getting a quality linebacker down the stretch is important for development purposes.

We're fine and absolutely set and won't take more players unless we get an absolute stud at: QB, RB, Safety, Guard, or Corner.

Biggest remaining Targets at the current moment:

1. Zach Harrison: I'd say 50/50 shot at this point. But I'll believe we get him when he signs.

2. Trevor Keegan. OT from Illinois, big tough and mean. Will be an all conference tackle for us. I believe we will get Keegan.

3. Quavarius Crouch. Was a 5* Running back, but is now being recruited by most programs as a 5* linebacker. I would say slight Tennessee lean but he's visiting on Saturday.

4. Bryce Benhart. Tackle from Minnesota.

5. George Karlaftis, Purdue commit. Probably no chance unless Brohm leaves.

6. Isaiah Foskey, Cornelius Johnson, Kyle Ford. Probably no chance at any of them but they're targets.

There is absolutely no chance Black leaves after next year, a small chance Collins leaves, and if he keeps progressing, a 50/50 shot DPJ leaves. Black has played 3 games in his career lets slow the roll. DPJ may leave, but that would still leave a senior Black and senior Collins, Junior Ronnie Bell, Sophomore Quintel Kent, and a bunch of slot receivers. I'm not saying they won't take someone, but I doubt they take someone for the sake of filling a roster spot.

Excellent take, but I think we have less of a chance with Harrison & more of a chance with Karlaftis.  If somehow we could get both, that would truly be some sweet reloading upon the departure of Winovich/Gary.

Crouch cancelled his visit...  No real reason given, but said he intends to make it back here. Not holding my breath.

I think we have a 50/50 shot of Harrison. I would still assume he goes to Ohio State though, but the longer he waits, the better chance I think we have. If he comes up for a visit, it could be a really good sign. Karlaftis I really only think we get if Brohm leaves. If he was going to be a flip risk I think we would've heard some real rumblings by now.

Good summary. I believe Michigan is in excellent shape at OT. Mayfield and Hudson are waiting in the wings and Hayes is maturing. And take a look at the tape of the play Trente Jones made last week when they swung a pass to him in the flat...OMG!!! But adding Keegan, Benhart or Ike would be just fine.

LB and WR could use an addition or two. Bru McCoy is a beast who could play both! I'ld take Crouch for wherever he wants to play. I wonder where Sanguinetti stands-like the kid a lot??? Any of your #6 guys would be fantastic.

Charbonnet has 5 star talent.

Love recruiting-very intriguing and exciting!

There's almost no contact between Bru McCoy and the staff. If there was any interest on his end, we wouldve heard more about it. Sanguinetti I think missed a chance to be a part of the class. I'm not saying he would have chosen Michigan, but I think with Lewis Cine going to Georgia, the staff is comfortable with Hill, Johnson, possibly Velazquez, and 6 DBs last year. DB is a deep position, I don't think they're going to chase Sanguinetti unless something changes.

I wouldn't say Michigan is in excellent shape at OT, but I think it's a better spot than they've been in for awhile.

Charbonnet is excellent, he's the reason Crouch would only be considered a take at LB in my opinion.

I doubt any of #6 end up here, but a win saturday would be a very big deal especially with another couple big games coming up.

Confused how Sparty pulls in a 5* ?

Regional school, wheels coming off their fluke run as UM reestablished itself, play in a trash stadium with a passionless fan base and lack any significant tradition and not an historical powerhouse.

I’d get if they were killing it on the field, but they’ve already peaked.  Even if these local kids are not enamored with UM, surprising to see the elite Midwest recruits choosing sparty over OSU, PSU, Notre Dame, or simply leaving the region.
