Dan Villari Starts for Syracuse at QB; Fifth Michigan QB to Start This Season
Syracuse was out of quarterbacks for tonight’s Boca Raton Bowl against USF, so converted tight end Dan Villari got the start.
He thus becomes the FIFTH Michigan QB to start for a Power Five team this season, joining JJ McCarthy (Michigan), Cade McNamara (Iowa), Joe Milton III (Tennessee) and Alan Bowman (Oklahoma State).
That has to be a record.

I went to the Georgia Tech vs Syracuse game and Villari took a ton of snaps at QB. He either ran it straight ahead or through a quick wide receiver screen. Very predictable offense.
But it was great to see him out there. And even better than GT got the win to get to bowl eligibility- my son goes there so I adopted them as a local team.

Strong chance my daughter ends up going to UGA (got accepted with a scholarship). We'll see what happens with Michigan EA in January, but the fact that UGA could be more than $35k a year less than Michigan is a factor.
