I think the submission software strips out scripts. The counter might be innocuous, but they can be used with malicious intent.
And update it every second.

It's pretty simple, and I haven't been able to get rid of the banner ads at the top or bottom. Then again, I haven't spent a lot of time on it. Customization is also fairly limited, though there might be some possible workarounds to get the block M in there.
You might want to try searching on Google (e.g., countdown, clock, html) for something better.
I have tried the first 2 pages and nothing, but then I remembered Myspace and well look that's what i got.

I think wile_e8 is right about scripts being disabled. I have something that works perfectly when I save it in an HTML file locally, but it does nothing when I try to paste it in here.
