Commit Watch Tomorrow: 4* TE Brady Prieskorn and 4* DT Jerod Smith

Tomorrow is shaping up to be a special day for Michigan's 2024 recruiting class with 2 Top 300 recruits announcing their college commitments and both trending to Michigan.

First is Top 100 4* MI TE Brady Prieskorn from Rochester Adams (#56 on 247 Composite) is announcing his college commitment around 3 PM tomorrow. Crystal Ballz are 100% in favor for Michigan.

Second is 4* CT DT Jerod Smith (#270 on 247 Composite) who received 4 Ballz to Michigan this weekend. Both players seem to be announcing on their social media.

By my calculations (using the 247 sports class calculator) these two commitments would move Michigan past Ohio State and would currently boast the #1 2024 class in the country. An incredible feat for Harbaugh & The Staff. As old friends used to say, Buckle Up.

3* C Jake Guarnera is also supposed to announce his commitment on Friday. All signs are pointing to Michigan at this point

Also, watched Jerod Smith's Hudl tape and I'm a huge fan. Not sure if we see him at edge or inside, but love his get-off and quickness

*orignial comment deleted, I clearly don’t know how to use the class calculator*

Sam was just saying during the round table it didn’t sound like Brady was committing any time soon so this is great news

Too soon?

On a serious note I hope there can be some semblance of chill on the "Projections" for these recruits on their profiles.  Going back and reading some of what is projected is cringe worthy.  A lot of these guys are just pure misses and thats reality across CFB.  "first team ALL B10, potential 3rd round NFL pick etc" for half our classes yearly is not reality.

I may be wrong but I always thought that "projections" meant something like "what we see if this player pans out as hoped" rather than "I am betting this will happen."

A true projection for some guys of "most likely will never start and probably will serve as depth only and/or a transfer" is a bit of a Debbie Downer.

It would be awesome to see Michigan as the team with the number one recruiting class in the nation. In all my years of closely following recruiting, which dates back to about 2007-08, I can't remember them EVER being number one at any point.

I know they aren't likely toend the cycle there, but for a little while it will be fun.

It won't happen.  Look at average recruiting rank and UM is still towards bottom of top 10 at end most cycles.  Early and have a lot of recruits and good solid class.  But Bama Georgia (Hell even OSU mercenary school) will have higher ave per player.  Bama only has 6 guys but their ave is 95+.  UM is doing better than late in the 91s per player (last year 89s I believe) so it's progress.

SC (Not that SC) is #6 fergodsakes with a higher per player grade. #BAGS
