Congratulations to those outstanding Michigan men. I must say James Ross earned at least an honorable mention this year, my opinion of him is much higher than that, though. He had almost as many tackles as RJS and Bolden combined this season with 138.

Ross is my pick to be the star of these defensive class. I think some others will be right there with him. But for whatever reason I'm guessing Ross this year, I think he'll play WLB or MLB for 3 years and be one of the best by the time he's done.

We'll see!

A 4 year starter?

lol, I got a good chuckle at that.

Do you know how hard it is to play DLine on the college level? In high school you're bigger and stronger than everyone...that's not the case at the next level. Also conditioning.

However the biggest hurdle Pipkins will likely have to clear is having THREE defensive line coaches. He's not going to walk in and please 6 eyes right away. He's going to have to be technically sound and do everything PERFECT. The chances of that happening? I wouldn't bet on it.

If Pipkins is a 3 year starter, we should count our blessings. If he's a 2.5 year starter, I'd be satisfied. But gone are the days where we need to worry about a Freshman walking in and playing right away. Hoke is here.
