Chris Evans: RB, WR, SLOT, PR, KR

Submitted by uofmchris on

I keep a pretty good eye on this board, so I apologize in advance if this has already been discussed.

I just watched Harbaughs post game press conference, and there were a few times where he made it a point that Chris Evans will be used in multiple postions this season. "You will just have to wait and see" Harbaugh mentioned about Evans.

He noted that he will be used in special teams, running back, wide reciever and slot back.

Really excited about this kid. Brings back memories of how I felt about ''Shoelace" after his first game!

I'm excited too, but don't discount the fact that nobody had film on Evans and I'm sure Hawaii was thinking "who's this guy?". I'm sure he will garner more attention from defenses going forward.

Specialize in one area. They already have enough weapons on the outside, Peppers already does the KR/PR stuff. I'd much rather have him become that lethal RB and focus strictly on the position.

Michigan doesn't need 9 of those do-it-all types. But whatever Harbaugh does with him, so be it.

Why not use him in all areas if he's one of the best in all areas?

He's not the starting or even backup RB...he's not the starting or even backup SLOT.

So why not use him as a SLASH type athlete so he gets the number of snaps he would if he was a starter?

If guys want to play and can contribute at multiple positions...I don't see why not. They get fed the playbook in pieces, so it's not like you have to now learn every single play and every single nuance for the position.

special backs who just sees the field and knows where to run naturally.  If the first game is any indication and with Harbaugh's comments, Evans may be that guy.  It makes you wonder about Drake Johnson though.  I haven't heard anything about him being injured.  At least we have him if we need him.

at least the OP didn't get negged into oblivion for posting widely known information like.  That is the standard response.

On a side note, Evans is the next Percy Harvin.  Fact.
