Chase battling through injury until after combine

Looks as if Chase needs surgery but is battling through it. Kid’s tenacity is incredible... smart I think if it was going to hold him out of the combine too. Hopefully he doesn’t injure himself any more than he already is.

Give me 50 Devin Gardners.  Playing OSU with a broken foot?!  At 6'5" and mobile,  I could bulk 10-15 of him to over 300 pounds for the O and D lines.   Give me a 275 pound Devin Gardner as blocking/catching TE.  He already played QB and WR.   How about a  6'5" CB fuhgettaboutit.  He could do it.

I know he's smart enough not to regret a thing but. . . perhaps the most tragically wasted football career in UM history. Charter illustration of why a mediocrity like Hoke was just as harmful to the program as the entire RichRod debacle.

In fact--just to stir the pot a little on a lazy afternoon--I'd still take a RichRod with the full backing of the institution over Brady. At least a non-abusive RichRod, smart enough to control the ol' trouser snake.

I don't think RichRod is useless, but look what he did at Arizona (non-football stuff aside).

Without any alums submarining him, he made some of the same dumbass recruiting calls that he did at Michigan. It might've even been worse.

I was watching through Arizona blogs. Every year it seemed that he took about 15 or so "athletes" (who, in RR's world, could cover all non-line positions). Then he'd seem to remember the O-line. It's not clear that he ever remembered the D-line. :)

True, but RR actually has some usefulness in the game from an offensive standpoint. While I’d never ever ever “not even if the house was in fire” want to see that shit show of an offense being ran in A2 again. I do believe he would be useful in bringing some plays to offset the man ball that OSU loaded up to stop. Harbaughs O will likely never win in a game that we’d have to score 60 points, but I believe Oklahoma will put up quite a few on Bama today while we probably wouldn’t.

Battling through it?  If he can play, and he believes he can be successful at the combine, and the injury can't be made worse by working out and playing, how much of a battle can it be?

Two weeks ago I strained a muscle in my chest. It hurt to move, to breathe.

You can't double-secret-strain an already strained muscle, so technically I could have gone to the gym and worked out. Want to guess how many times I've been to the gym since? Exactly zero.

Injuries are injuries, pal.

If Chase followed your username’s lead, he would quit the team, move somewhere hard to find in the Rocky Mountains and start his own football league where he could be paid commensurate with his value. Since he didn’t do that, I can only conclude that you think he is, in fact, a pussy.

So shitty for him. He was pretty healthy for the last two years and now he’s not - at the worst possible time.

SIAP, but in retrospect do we know how injured Chase was during The Game?  I mean, what injury was it, specifically, and was he at 80%?  50%? etc

I wonder how much this single injury led to the lack of pressure on Haskins and, thus, whether it was the central cause of the defensive woes all game.

Quite the paradigm shift from others in the same category. Since everyone seems to agree that it makes sense for players to "sit out" the bowl games that are not in the playoffs, will the the same logic be applied to Chase in calling him careless about his potential NFL future or foolish to put his body through that? Or is Chase making the right decision to play even though hurt and even though he could risk his NFL future?
