It's funny - I thought Fields using the "racist baseball players in the stands yelled the N-word at me so now I don't feel safe [after losing the starting job to Fromm]" was weak sauce for justifying a transfer, but otherwise he seems like a perfectly decent human being who is playing tough in a game where he's probably still hurting from 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, I'm not a "fan" of him by any means and I think he'll be a mediocre pro QB, but in college he basically is just a semi-pro player who doesn't try to act like he's more than that.
That said, the fact they keep getting all of these breaks drives me insane.

The difference between Michigan and these teams isn’t coaching. The level of talent on this field is light years ahead of what Michigan puts out there. Josh Gattis was seen as a brilliant up and comer when he was coaching Alabama-level athletes. He’s not any less of a coach now. Sorry, but Michigan is never going to be able to recruit at this level. The best they can hope for in the current climate is to pull a Norte Dame, sneak into the playoff and get pasted.

Yep - the recruiting gap is just massive. And with the current structure OSU can guarantee high school kids several B1G championships and a appearances in the CFP. Can't compete with that.

The singular desire to score TDs on offense might have something to do with it. Not worrying about killing clock or field position is advantageous to skill players.
