CBS has an update on Peach Jam with a Jett Howard scouting report, and a scouting report about Emoni Bates.
Jett Howard: https://247sports.com/Player/Jett-Howard-46077028/
I was stunned to learn that Juwan Howard's son had not yet committed to Michigan to play for his father. If/when he does, the Wolverines will have, far as I can tell, one of the best small forwards headed to college basketball in 2022. Howard has strides to make defensively, but his offensive arsenal and attitude on the court are undeniable. He's ranked 41st in his class of now, but I can't see how there are even 25 better players in 2022. He can be a really nice college forward.
Thanks, but someone posted this 2 days ago just so you know. .
My bad, Mods please remove.
I’m starting to wonder if people are reposting topics just to aggravate? It’s happening at a much higher clip than it had been.
The dumbing down is reaching MGOBLOG!!!!!!
People don’t scroll through topics past the first five, and if they aren’t coming every day they don’t know. Welcome to Gen Z standards and practice. Their research skills are a product of the internet being a magic 8 ball.
Maybe, just maybe, if you see a topic that's already been posted, just ignore the duplicate? I don't get why a certain segment of this board takes it upon themselves to be the posting police. Who cares???
I'm guessing you don't mind sifting through junk mail every day to find the one piece of mail you actually need.
There's this really cool new-fangled thing called email filters.
In this OP's defense, this originally landed about two days ago and the board has seen a lot of movement in the intervening 48 hours. I count 21 separate posts between the first post and this one. Even if OP did not rely on the sidebar, they would have to a bit of scrolling to find the original post.
Of course, OP probably should have looked a little deeper before posting a two-day-old article. Basketball recruiting is not esoteric that a major event featuring Michigan prospects would go completely overlooked.
A good guideline when deciding to post something on the MGoBlog Forum is:
"When did this news hit the national wire? If it was more than 2 hours ago, it's already been posted."
The stuff about Bates being overhyped isn't surprising. Plenty of 14-15 year olds have been called the next ______ in their sport. He's still one of the top 5 players in the class right now which is still pretty good. Sparty can spin it as "he's not good", but he's still a dang good player that we could use for a season if him and his daddy's attitude is correct.
Can we get another post on Alabama's QB making 7 figures off NIL?
Threadjack: Hunter Dickinson withdrew from the NBA Draft. Heiko left MgoBlog to go to Medical School. TomVH left for a bigger opportunity. Aquaman did, too. WD is gone and, oddly, THE_KNOWLEDGE is, too. Bucks win NBA. Rutger and Maryland to join Big Ten.
Tate Forcier is ineligible and RichRod has a man crush on Josh Groban.
You don't say!
What will Gorgeous Borges do without Heiko at press conferences? What will we do without TomVH to hold us?
Will MDen survive without their greatest salesman (WD) and will they ever sell personalized jerseys of current players to old guys like me? Will we someday again be able to sell jerseys in ohio?
And what about Naomi?
I think you should consider doing a weekly update column.
Bubble screens!!!
I’m not buying that last comment. Next thing you know, you’re going to tell me that PennState and, I don’t know, Nebraska already joined the conference. They call it the “Big Ten” for a reason.
Groundhog Day used to mean something in this town. They used pull the hog out and they used to eat it. You’re hypocrites, all of you!!!
Another important news item that hasn't been reported on here, at least not twice, is that the US Women's National Soccer Team let Sweden taste victory for the first time in a long time.
I'm celebrating by enjoying a delicious can of surstromming with my good friend Keith Jackson.
Report: Emoni Bates peaked at 15.

Jett Howard will blow up his second year at UM
An interesting tidbit in the article about “fake recruiting” and the transfer portal.
What's starting to happen now is coaches are fake-recruiting players out of high school. By that I mean: there are some coaches -- allegedly -- who are recruiting players under the guise of showing interest to have them commit out of high school, but in reality they DON'T want that commitment out of high school. Instead, they want to play the field. For varying reasons, they want to player to start somewhere else in college. But the scheming coaches want to establish the relationship now, so that if and when that player eventually transfers, a relationship has already been developed. Even better: the player, in theory, will be more college-ready. The first school did the heavy lifting with development. Now it's time to scoop up the goods. And since the player already has an established connection with a coach or two on a staff, it makes the portal recruiting process that much easier to navigate.
I guess something like this was inevitable, and I’m still in favor of the one-time transfer rule, but teams at the G5-level or lower are going to have a hard time keeping the talent they’ve developed.
