They had something very similar where I went to undergrad and it's a fantastic service. Definitely worth spreading the word about resources like this.

Went in there once. Had a massage chair, Seasonal Affective Disorder light, and an Xbox in there. Not too shabby

That is great. Thier cannot be enough ways to assist youth in obtaining a quality education at such a fine world class institution.

SOUNDS LIKE TERRIFIC NEWS.

Great news. When I was a student, CAPS had a long waiting list and it was very, very difficult to get in if you needed help that wasn't immediately life-threatening. They need all the resources they can get--and this is a great step.

I had some anxiety issues with adjusting to college and went to CAPS on a few occaisons and it seemed to help me, so I would recommend it. Glad to hear they are using resources on it.

and thankfully never needed the program, but I was an RA at my graduate institution, and they had the same setup (same name and everything), and it was notorious for having a two week waiting list, which became a minor scandal when the school started having a rash of suicides. Shame that it has to go like that for people to finally take notice and give a program more resources.

I spent 8 years working at university counseling centers as a psychologist (at 4 different schools), and at each one we were understaffed, underfunded, and overworked. We also tried to use the "embedded consultant" model as much as we could. Glad ot see U of M adding resources to this program. At least I hope that's what they're doing, rather than just spreading limited resources thinner...
