Can I watch tonight's hockey game on Comcast without ESPNU?

I think you're going to a buddy's house or the bar. Just ESPNU. Or you can try to find some video feed from justin.tv or myp2p.eu, but that could be tough.

simply check the guide. search for title: ncaa. or search for sport: hockey.

Yeah, I did a title search and nothing came up... so I assumed I was SOL. This was my desperation effort in hoping to find that somebody had heard that Comcast would pick it up on a random station, with the possibility of not adding it to their listings.
I'll have to head out somewhere or look for it on justin.tv instead.
Thank you both for your help.

Just call Comcast and activate ESPNU for $5/ month. At least that is what the up-charge was with Charter and you get 12 channels including ESPNU, ESPN Classic, ESPN News...

you get three Fox College Sports channels, which simulcast a bunch of games throughout the season - particularly good for those of us outside of the FSD footprint.
I think you can also cancel it right away without penalty, since at least those three channels won't be of too much use as the season wraps up.
You may even be able to activate online; worst case you can call and they'll turn it on pretty much right away.

Can't help with your conundrum, OP, but I just noticed that ESPNU is SD for the game on right now. I guess I'm getting spoiled, but it hurts my eyes to watch it. I guess we're all in the same boat here, right? There's no secret ESPNUHD channel that I'm missing? If so, that's pretty much inexcusable.

Mentioned above, but I'm in Chicago.
Here, there ARE two different ESPNU channels - one SD and one HD - but nothing indicates which is which in my program menu. I just figured it out during a game yesterday by flipping between the two.
I'd think it would be similar elsewhere when you have the same sports package to get ESPNU.
Thanks, I'll try to figure that out and hopefully find it in HD. I don't have a sports package, just basic Direct TV. Hopefully will find it.
EDIT: D'oh, all I get is the one basic ESPNU channel. Oh well...
EDIT EDIT: Called Direct TV. They don't offer ESPNU in HD even w/ the sports package. Bummer.
You can try this:

There were a few other ncaa regional finals links on ustream, as well. Judging by title alone, this one holds the most promise.
Here's hoping it's on somewhere.
EDIT: Just noticed that channel was last broadcast 12 months ago. Still hoping...
Somebody on justin.tv had all the college hockey games streaming all day yesterday. Hopefully said person will be back today.
Can you please notify us with the stream information?
Did you try the channel? I didn't think I had ESPNU and I just went and turned the channel on, and apparently I have it. Don't have any special packages either. Wish I woulda knew about this awhile ago.
EDIT: Just read a statement released by comcast in May 2009, saying that they added ESPNU to all Digital Classic subscribers. DOH!
Glad I saw your post. I have Cablevision and apparently they just added ESPNU. I went their site, searched for ESPNU and low and behold there it is, both SD and HD.
I believe I am getting it in the same package I had to add to get the BTN.
Not having cable, I too would appreciate someone posting a stream link if such turns up tonight.
I have Comcast as well. Try channel 735. It's SD, but I have it and I'm pretty sure it's part of the same tier of cable programming as ESPN2, BTN, etc. Could be wrong though.
Worth a shot.
and I do not get ESPNU, but I do have ESPN, ESPN2, BTN, etc. I haven't verified this myself though, I'm getting this information from my housemate. $2 pints at Charlie's tonight so I think I know where I will be watching the game.
all I have is basic digital. Its channel 735 for me. Here is the release they put out last year.

Does anyone know where I get get a good score update? I'm at work so I won't be able to stream the game but I'd like to follow along online somewhere. ESPN is usually pretty slow with their gamecast, any other suggestions?
Does anyone know the channel for Charter for espnU or the higher SD channel it would be much appreciated....and like people posted before me if there are any links please let me know. I don't want to miss this one....Go Blue!!!
Thanks much appreciated. Lets take it to the frozen four...Go Blue!!!
