It is mostly bark and no bite. I work on TUOOS campus and I walk around campus every day with my Michigan garb and on occasion I do get a threatened among other things. I simply respond I'm getting to old and too bitter to run. That usually ends it... When someone gets obnoxious and asks why I'm a Michigan fan, I often respond that I use it to gauge whether a person is worth knowing by how they respond to it.....that usually ends the conversation pretty quickly also. They are a fiesty but simple people...have pitty for them, not hatred. Its far more insulting that way :) Its probably safe to say that near 5-10% of Columbus area residents are Michigan fans... I get more 'Go Blue' comments walking around campus than I get threats.....just saying

The crazy thing is they act this way when them come to Ann Arbor too. I will never forget going to a Michigan v OSU game in Ann Arbor and having osu fans behind me saying fuck michigan the entire time and others acting like idiots before and after the game. We must start beating them again. Seeing redneck buckeyes happy makes me sick.

The first was in 1994 for the first of John Cooper's only two wins over Michigan. Buckeye reaction to that victory was to hurl empty pizza boxes and drink cups at me as I headed for the exit when OSU had secured the win. The second time was in 2006 for Armageddon. I think the only thing that saved my life on this day was the fact that fan vitriol was somewhat diluted with the untimely passing of Bo. Nevertheless, after the game a 5 or 6 year-old boy wearing an OSU jersey and one of those fey Buckeye necklaces shouted "Michigan sucks!" as I walked past him. Quickly I glanced over at his father to see if he would admonish his child for behavior so clearly inappropriate for his age and the "gentleman" couldn't have looked prouder. Believe everything you hear about Buckeye fans. Everything.

Brian shows much more constraint than I would ever be capable of. Something my father always used to say to me when I was younger that never made sense...."A bigger man would have walked away from that fight you just got in" (i used to indulge in such activities far too often). It turns out he was actually right and Bryan proved something I was never able to. That he was the bigger man than those redneck clowns.
