Brian's mini-feud with BHGB writer
While we're enjoying the deliciously ugly Purdue win I wanted to bring up another win, this one for Brian and MGoBlog. Does anyone remember the back and forth between Brian and BHGP, when our fearless leader predicted that Iowa would run out of luck this season after all the lucky bounces in 2009? Looks like Brian was right, no?
Brian 1 BHGP 0
P.S. Will someone make up for my depressing laziness and post the link?

But brian is a good guy

Brian's point was speculation. That was the point of the dispute. Nothing the BHGP writer said was inherently flawed logic. It was just disagreements in gut feelings. It was a non-story.

Looks like Brian's gut was correct.

It wasn't last week against Indiana. That was a really lucky bounce.

I don't remember exactly, but I believe there was some luck calculations (ie., points vs. expected points @given field positions, TO margin, etc.) that BHGP shrugged off as nonsense. Again, this is months ago and I'm not going to bother to find the articles, but I don't remember BHGP presenting anything other than an ad-hominem counterargument.

I felt the same way - Brian just said Iowa was unlikely to have the kind of turnover margin and last-minute heroics that they enjoyed last year. BHGP countered, and that was it. Brian did win out, though.

As I said above, today might be a win for Brian, but last week Iowa got hugely lucky.

I think that's going to require a 2-1 trade. What else can we throw in to seal the deal?
