If you're a multi-year starter at Michigan, you're pretty likely to sign an UDFA deal at the very least. I'm a little surprised that there's been no word about Raymon Taylor, who I think has more upside than Beyer.

Now, who was it that was being a dickhead again? One guy says something good about Michigan and one of their players and someone else automatically downvotes him?

He replied and said he saw it on Bleacher Report. I looked and couldn't find it so I asked him for a link. Sounds more and more like false information. I hope he is right but if not, sorry for mis-informing.

But while on topic of the Ravens, Fitzgerald Toussaint signed another 1 year deal with Baltimore, worth $510,000. Should have a chance to compete with Taliaferro for #2 on depth chart.

Baltimore picked Javorious Allen who will give Foresett a run and probably take the number one spot...

I play dynasty fantasy football and even carried troussaint a little while last year.  He doesn't have much value this year.

I have that problem in Dynasty football as well. I grab UM guys and hold on to them way too long for nostalgic purposes (Brandon Graham, Jason Avant, Junior Hemingway...) I think I started one of those guys once.

I always thought that Beyer was a little underrated while he was here.  Don't get me wrong; that's a little underrated, not that he was some secret All-American or something.  But he was a pretty solid player as a junior and senior.

I aree with you JayMo4.  Never could understand the undervaluing of many on this site.  Coaches loved him.  Solid play.  Took on whatever was asked of him.  Now another chance for him to keep moving forward with his football career.  Go Brennen!  Behind you all the way.

He was "undervalued" because he was essentially incapable of making wow plays because he was athletically limited. I literally do not remember a single play from his career where he impressed because of his speed, athleticism, power, etc.

There's something to be said for being a solid fundamental player, but generally, solid fundamental players - who are undersized, lack athleticism, etc. - are not really NFL-caliber guys. He was a serviceable college player, and that's about where it ends.

Guess we will all find out together.  You have been consistent in what you have said over the years.  Simply disagree with your assessment.  No problem.  Time will tell.  If he makes it, hopefully you will be open to changing your mind about him.  If not, oh well.

I liked Beyer as a college player.  But to make it to the NFL, you need to be a non-stop highlight reel or at the very least get good enough that opposing coaches are scared of you.  Mike Martin blew up a ton of plays, Gallon set records, Molk won awards, a few teams actually did scheme around Kovacs.  And these guys are rotation players or barely hanging on to roster spots.

Beyer was. . . solid.  Rock solid, but it's not like teams changed their base plays because of him.  And he was tutored by some pretty good DL coaches, so it's not like he's underdeveloped like Jackson's RBs.  He projects to practice squad if he catches a few lucky breaks.

I think he is smart, tough and a nice player.

The Pro day numbers I found on him were - 265lbs and a high 4.8 forty yard dash.

My 2 cents are

-He can only play DE at that speed.

-He can only play in a 4-3 D at that weight.

-I don't think he is fast/athletic enough to stick in the NFL, but I wish him well with his shot at the big time.  Being at starter at U of M is a major accomplishment.  I love local guys like him.
