let me see, patterson?  you mean the patterson who runs the spread on offense and a 425 / 335 flex on defense?  sounds like we just had a coach that did that same thing.  i think the only thing we needed was to keep rr and to give him the power to get another dc without being a cheap ass university.  read mgoblogs info regarding uofm pay for assistants and coordinators...pathetic!  rr deserved better...uofm failed rr!

UM won games with that same pay scale before RR. And the difference is that Patterson runs predominantly 4-2-5. RR ran nothing BUT 3-3-5. Not to mention Patterson himself is a defensive minded coach and, statistically, ran the best defense in the country this year.

He runs the 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 because of who he plays in his conf. I have to believe that Patterson, based on his ability to adapt with the changes his school has faced, would adapt to a better fit scheme in the B1G if hired. That being said, I have to believe that with all the rumors coming from different sides of the story, instead of just from Mich this time, there is something to Miles coming to Mich and he may in fact be named HC soon.

Shit and move on. I supported rr as much as anyone but he made his own bed. The picture of him driving away after being fired sums it up. The guy takes a paycheck from the state of michigan and drives away in a lexus. He just never got it.

is what exactly? A high paid individual can't drive a nice car? I am pretty sure most people would be driving a nice car if they could afford it as well. Would driving a 1980 junker indicate somebody getting it to you?

The difference: Patterson actually understands how to run that defense.

with Pelini taking over LSU is the same rumor as in 2008.  Just recycled because Tiger fans hate every coach they've ever had.

I would be surprised if this is anything more than a courtesy interview for Miles.  I'm sure Brandon is talking to Patterson there as well.

Since day 1 Patterson has been my pick. Not like DB calls me and asks but if he did I would be all over the Patterson train. TCU has played teams like Oklahoma in the recent past and done very well. He has proven his ability to do more with less. Patterson please come to Ann Arbor. FWIW Stoops had the option to go to FL and he turned it down. Not based on facts, merely suspicion here, but I don't think he turned down the FL job on the hopes that we would fire RR.

Times-Picayune website has an updated article with a quote from Jamie Morris regarding Les Miles:

Former Wolverines running back Jamie Morris, who was recently a member of the Michigan athletic department, said his best information was that talks are ongoing.

"I don't know exactly what that means, but there is pressure here to get a coach in place quickly," Morris said.

"And when one of your own is out there and one of the elite coaches in the nation, it's pretty obvious who your first choice should be."

......that David Brandon will talk or maybe has talked to Miles, and if asked, he's in Ann Arbor shortly after that discussion. It just seems like that, if Les said "yes", then this is over.
