Bowl projections: Michigan vs Florida or Ole Miss in Citrus Bowl

Submitted by DISCUSS Man on

ESPN bowl projections have Michigan vs Florida in a Citrus Bowl clash that would probably end in a 10-7 final score.

SB Nation (thread below) obviously has Michigan vs Stanford in the Rose Bowl

I don't understand why you log in, click this thread, and choose to submit this comment. Yes - bowl projections are premature, but who cares? At most, they provide some guesstimate for the trajectory of a team; at worst, they provide fodder for blog commentary. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the conjecture.

Jesus man, it's a Sunday night, nothing going on except a bad NFL game. Let people have their fun and post something that might be fun to talk about. This fucking board with people that do nothing except bitch about posts. You didn't have to fucking click and respond.

Here's the only "bowl prediction" we need.

#2 Utah vs #3 Michigan in one National Semifinal.

#1 LSU vs #4 Baylor in the other National Semifinal

Yeah: fuck it.  I'm drinking the Kool Aid.

Schlabach's projection of Boise State and Houston in the Hawai'i Bowl - while undoubtedly premature by a mile or more as these projections are - brings up an interesting mind exercise. That could very well be one of those quintessential games where zero fucks are given on the defensive side of the ball.

These two predictors are idiots. Michigan will do better than they are believing.

That said, I am most amazed by their take on my Temple Owls who hold quality wins over Penn State (via epic beating) and Cincinnati (at Cincinatti, the same Cincinnati who just beat Miami YTM). Temple runs the table with only a possible loss at home to Notre Dame and with that defense I'm certainly not conceding that...

Jackasses.

can we beat a good team first? I love everything I am seeing, but my goodness, pump the breaks. BYU was 22 on two fluke hail marys, starting QB and best defensive player were injured. The three other wins were against terrible teams. Harbaugh is a awesome coach, and we have a great staff, I just think we should relax on the playoff talk. for much of the game we couldn't move the ball against Maryland..a team that gave up 48 to Bowling Green. relax

What's amazing is that we beat BYU so badly that many Michigan fans don't realize just how good of a team they were. They routinely put up 30 points and 400-500 yards of offense. Sure, they won on some Hail Marys against two other power 5 teams and lost in a close game to UCLA, but it's not like we barely won. They got 0 points and 105 yards. Even against a team like Maryland that's impressive, but to do that two weeks in a row is amazing. Plus, back to back shutouts for the first time since 2000 and only 210 yards of offense? What other evidence to you need that this is a good football team.

We need to beat NW to prove we are a real team. We proceed to beat NW.

We need to beat MSU to prove we are a real team. We proceed to beat MSU.

We need to beat OSU to prove we are a real team. We proceed to beat OSU.

We need to win the national championship to prove we are a real team. Proceed to win it all.

We need to beat the Patriots to prove we are a real team......and it goes on and on.

If you're not buying this team now, then its unlikely you're actually going to put a lot of weight into a win over Northwestern.

Doesn't matter what they're ranked right now, and it doesn't really matter how good they end up being... they're Northwestern, and no one actually respects their football team.

Until the state game, we're all just guessing.

I think the rose bowl would be a great thing for us this year and as it turns out, not impossible with the way we are playing. If that doesn't happen, I don't care who we play or in what bowl just as long as it's in FL!

Rose bowl against Utah would be something! OR FL bowl against an SEC team!!

The Holiday bowl then a Florida bowl. Selfish reasons of course. But I can see us having a leg its shot at the Rose Bowl if we win are next couple games and Sparty!

I haven't read all the comments yet. How many "we need to pump our breaks because we haven't proven anything because we've only played high school teams and we need to win the NFC West before we can say we're a good team" comments are there on this thread?
