B1GADGolf Michigan birdies the first hole as Lion Kim sank a 35-foot uphill putt #B1GADGolfB1GADGolf B1GADGolfB1GADGolf Ashley Bauer does the honors with a birdie on 2. Nice last minute replacement for U-M. #B1GADGolf
The trophy being contested:
As a mark of the good natured aspects of the event:
B1GADGolf A Domino's pizza with a Spartan "S" was ordered by @MSUAD for @DaveBrandonAD prior to the #B1GADGolf contest. http://twitpic.com/5vpu2g
That pizza move is pretty funny. I have a suspicion though that Michigan will have the last laugh.
It is pretty funny, but that has to be least appetizing pizza I have ever seen.
would be a blueberry block M on American cheese. Not sure that would be more appetizing.
Why not use banana peppers to make a true block M?
put it on a bed of blue cheese...
How does this event work?
The details are in an earlier post (it's buried a couple pages back on the board):

From that post, there are two teams of 5 players (for us it's DB, Jay Feely, Lion Kim, Andy Matthews, and Ashley Bauer (looks like she was a last-minute replacement for Elaine Crosby?); for sparty it's their AD Mark Hollis, Ryan Brehm, Jimmy Chestnut, Jack Newman, and Sue Ertl), and they are taking the best 2 balls from each team per hole for scoring.
...somewhat:
Each team is playing 5 separate balls with the top 2 scores on each hole counting towards a double par score. Everyone plays their own ball...best two scores per hole count.
That's news... We (I) had wrongly supposed that it was a 5-match Match Play format, which would have obviously prevented a tie unless one (or three) matches were halved.
That's kind of a weird format for tournament golf; it sounds more like the Friday afternoon of a country club invitational.
Ashley Bauer substituting for Elaine Crosby might help Michigan...
Dave Brandon looks incredibly odd in that Twitter's profile picture.
I'm new to this whole 'working in an office' thing (summer intern) and you made me bust out laughing in my cube with that thread title
weird
i've been told i have an odd sense of humor
Nice. They're playing for a big bowl of balls.
That pizza looks disgusting...
/chokes back vomit
Does anybody else find MSU AD's constant jabs at UM and Brandon incredibly childish? The pizza thing would normally be funny, but it loses the funny after all the rest of the talking and seems less good natured. How does MSU hope to shake the "little brother" mantra if all their AD does it act like a little brother?
The guy ordered a pizza with an S on it. It's not like he got one with a penis made out of pepperoni and shoved it in Brandon's face.
If you are the AD of Michigan State you can make do with a single Chili Pepper.
"Domino's Delivery for David Brandon!"
It's not just the pizza. If that had been the only thing, that deserves a chuckle. It's the tweet after a Indy Colt's game that celebrated Mike Hart having a bad game. Being happy that a kid didn't have success in his professional career because of the school he went to? Come on. It's about when he said that he would always rather have a winning program than a winning season after we beat them in Bball twice last year. Does he not realize he's backhanding his own program in the process? It's that UM centric stuff he public obsesses about that I find really juvenile, and "little brother-ish."
The more I encounter Mark Hollis, the more I come to the conclusion the guy is about as juvenile as it comes when it comes to taking shots at Michigan. You're an Athletic Director of a Big 10 university. Act like it.
Team Michigan is sitting at -5 at the turn. Haven't seen sparty's score through nine, but through eight they were at -2.
Keep it up!
Edit: Just saw the latest tweet, sparty is at -3 at the turn. Should be an exciting back 9.
They are in a playoff after msu birdied 18 to tie.

<br>Also, jay had to delay a tee shot because he was on a conference call with Goodell voting on the new CBA.
...MSU.
Brehm made a 15 footer to win on the first playoff hole. hmmmm
