The Boiler Up! and Men's College Basketball evening Open Thread

Upset number two on the way tonight to upset the new "number one team" in the conference.

Others tonight include Pitt @ Cinci, Louisville @ ND, and Gonzaga is playing.

Proceed with belittling comments about Sparty so I may laugh while becoming drunk.

BONUS: What are you drinking?

MSWho didnt already win today? Going by all the Sparty on victory posts when we lost today. I thought they already played and won. I wonder if any fans in least Lansing even know they have a game tonight

Given how crazy this week was for the upper echelon of CBB, Michigan's OSU win and freakish loss to Wisconsin are actually pretty good. Duke will probably be #1 just based on W/L, but Michigan shouldn't fall very far, and I can actually see them moving up to #2. Voters know the deal with Wisconsin in the Kohl Center - won 4 of last 5 versus top 5 opponents. They were unranked, yes, but Bo Ryan can suck the life out of anybody with just about any team he has, and people know this.

Our losses are to OSU (Top 10), Indiana (Top 5) and Wisky on the road. Wisconsin was only a 2pt underdog today for a reason. They have a ridiculous record at the Kohl Center. The teams most people are pointing to as #1 are Miami and Duke, right? Miami has lost to Florida Gulf Coast (not Top 10), Arizona (Top 10) and Indiana State (Not Top 10). They have one good out of conference win at home vs MSU. The ACC is awful this year. Duke has lost to NC State and Miami (by 30 points) and are not getting Ryan Kelly back anytime soon if at all. By far the best team they've beaten was Ohio State by 5. Any other teams deserve to be #1? Kansas? Florida who just lost by 30?

At the moment, it's a Boddington's Ale and the Pitt-Cincinnati game - both teams are living around 40% or so for field goals and we are fast approaching a combined 30 personal fouls in this game.

Both teams have great free throw percentages tonight though, so there's that.

It's uncanny how Izzo's teams go on runs the first five minutes of the second half.  (Beilein's frequently do as well.)  MSU is probably like +50 on the season during those five-minute stretches.

It may just be a failure of genetics but Denzel Valentine constantly looks like he's not quite sure where he's at.

Having worked with a lot of Wisconsin alumni in the mid-90's I think I have more Badger anger than the average Michigan fan.  Thus, had to break out the last of my Hopslam tonight. It is definitely helping to take the edge off!

Well, if I calculated this correctly, Notre Dame and Louisville both sit at a shade under 0.500 for offensive efficiency  right now. It is an offensive rhythm of the variety that would make experimental musicians like Brian Eno proud certainly.

Is there a mandate that all Notre Dame basketball players must look alike? The only people in the world that have the same haircut as Luke Harangody are ND Power Forwards and Centers. #Swarbick'd #NDbrand #Catfished #ContrivedHistory
