Does that mean he's going to sit on the Wings bench next year? I.e. is this different than signing with the Griffins or may he still end up in GR next year.
This is an upgrade on his contract; he previously had an AHL-only "tryout" contract. It makes him a true prospect of the organization.
It's a 2-way deal and there are TONS of forwards ahead of Luke right now, so don't expect him in the NHL too soon.
Good for Glendening. Detroit is rapidly approaching the the 50 contract limit (I think this is 49) so this is a big vote of confidence that he's a) a guy they'd like to keep around Grand Rapids and b) somebody they can call up in an emergency and count on to fill a role.
Finally a Wolverine in the organization (solidified anyways)
here's hoping to snag Hagelin next year when he's a UFA (right? because isn't he a RFA this year?)
I know I will get downvoted (again) because I am a Blue Jacket fan but there is a lot of talk about Jack Johnson being made "the captain"....
let me get this straight -- you have ties to the state of Michigan, which would give you obvious justification to be a Red Wings fan, yet you choose to be a Blue Jacket fan? Thats...odd.
although its slightly different with college teams vs pro teams. But I see what you're saying.
