You absolutely can.  Covid sports is bullshit, that's why the ratings are terrible.  Nothing that happens in these contrived, made-for-tv contracts seasons belong in any stats or record books.

But, if I can have it both ways, 2-4 and almost losing to Rutgers is grounds for dismissal.

For some of us older folk the early Carr, Moeller, and Bo years were fun and mostly successful. Plenty of headaches as well, but nothing like the continued frustrations starting in the late Carr years and continuing through the Harbaugh tenure.

I don't expect 11-1 or 12-0 every year like Alabama, OSU, Clemson etc as of late. It would be nice to get to a consistent 10-2 without being repeatedly disappointed seeing questionable game plans and personnel moves which don't make sense.

Please, just general competency with a 10-2 record and winning at least 25% of the time vs. OSU would be a really nice start.

Exactly, parts of this fanbase thinks we should NEVER expect to beat them ever again as they have turned into a pro team.  We have had 3 bad to mediocre coaches back-to-back-to-back and that we should be only happy to an "Iowa" level of success from now on.  Fine, in that case do not pay your coach $8 million a year and be happy with an 8-4 / 9-3 record every year.

I know your posting history in support of Harbaugh so I’m not going to waste time laying out arguments, but we have very different ideas of what “general competence”, “sounds game plans”, and “effective personnel” is.
Every season under Harbaugh, except his first, has featured some form of disfunction in some aspect of the team for a good chunk of the season or the whole season. It’s fairly remarkable the number of issues he has rotated through.

I travel around different boards and whenever I see the "academics" and "do things the right way" BS, I know that team is getting their asses kicked and is subpar.  Just a total copout. We recruit - well we try - the same kids as OSU and Alabama. The problem is they usually have no interest in our academic bastion

With his NFL search, Harbaugh is making the football team look like his distant second priority and Warde is letting him do it, to the detriment of UM's entire football program. Even if Harbaugh agrees to an extension, no remotely intelligent recruit who seeks program stabiility will come here.  I'm really praying he gets offered the Chargers or Texas job and walks.  In the long run, UM will be so much better off.

Last Harbaugh tweet today (unless news breaks) The more and more info that comes out, the more and more it appears that Michigan is Harbaugh’s fall back plan. If that’s the case, I have no idea why any fan would want him back.

Is this the Twitter account for the cashier at Campus Corner? An even better source than Counter-Strike with a birds eye view of Schembechler Hall from its perch on State Street. I hear Harbaugh grabs a handle of Mohawk Vodka on his way home from time to time.

I’m just sick and tired of all the game playing with both Manuel and Harbaugh.  Sign the contract  because you really want to be here or leave.  Tell Harbaugh to get off his high horse and sign or leave.  Either way this is BS that this is going on.  Harbaugh is not loved as much as he thinks he is.

Did Harbaugh agree to the terms of the extension or is it a take it or leave it type of offer? What are the chances this delay is just a negotiating tactic by Harbaugh? If the extension is a pay cut with incentives, Harbaugh might be offended by the offer and is waiting to be contacted by some nfl teams just to gain some leverage. It’s possible, right? He might still be committed to Michigan but doesn’t feel like they are committed to him with the pay cut and small buyout.
