but it's not Oscar-worthy like the Big Enchilada.
The Big Lebowski.
And also, let's not forget - let's not forget, Dude, that keeping wildlife, um, an amphibious rodent, for, um, you know, domestic - within the city - that ain't legal either.
I was always fond of William Hurt's character. Very realistic for a guy that had his junk blown off.
I'm in sales
What do you sell?
I don't have to answer that.
I must query how you gauge the realism of a character that had his junk blown off in 'Nam. You know this how? Ah, small wonder you are a mad hatter :)
Larry Kasdan, Michigan MA Ed, Hopwood Award winner. Go Blue!
all the time on various pharmaceuticals. Drives a porsche and sells drugs for a living.
Exactly how I would live sans penis.
If you are sans penis, are you really living? However, don't ask Caitlyn.
once the heroin ran out I'd drive that porsche off the nearest cliff.

You never shoot a guy in the dick! Everyone knows that! Shooting a guy in the dick!? That's just...that's just weak...I can't believe you, Butters.
I liked the movie in general, but it was easily Costner's best work.
Really? I think his performance was lacking energy.
So between you and the first Bronco Joe, you can say ALL the lines!
But if you try some times. well you just might find, you get what you need."
who does the Rolling Stones with greater stones than this film. Lawrence Kasdan is my hero, a classic with a classic cast. And even the angst of Ann Arbor and Michigan fans is on complete display. Perfection. Love it. An all-time favorite on multiple levels.
One of the all-time soundtracks, too.I actually didn't see the movie until last summer, but the soundtrack had been one of my personal favorite albums ever since I was a little kid.
Too bad he didn't make it off the cutting room floor. (He was the friend who brought them all together by committing suicide.)
We paid for that though. . .Silverado.

Having him knock up the friend would make them "even" after her affair.
avatar.
RIP sweet prince.
Somehow I missed that he passed in December. I never saw the Anchorman movies, in part because I imagine it's just a bad spoof on what Bonds was, except he was probably meaner, drunker, quite possibly dumber, and did things that would never make it into a movie script. I don't want to believe he's dead, I want to believe he's just passed out on the sidewalk outside a Detroit bar having wet himself.
Sorta met him once. At Greene's hamburgers, 10 and Orchard Lake rd. 3am just closed the bars myself and there he was slumped over a bowl of chili. Probably late 70s.
Thanks...I was a big BB fan growing up watching the local Detroit channels for news. I was fairly bummed when he got canned in January 1995, but it was understandable--he just couldn't control the drinking habit. When WXYZ put the compilation of best commentaries out and the one with him railing against college football and Michigan-OSU...until the twist at the end, it was worth making that an avatar haha.
hey day so to speak. I think my parents didn't like him, so we usually watched one of the other channels. He was certainly a regular in the newspaper police reports, being picked up for drunken driving or some other related violation.
We were solid Bill Bonds growing up though - Channel 7 News was appointment viewing. The "Up Front" segment was epic when Bonds was doing it, up to and including the time he actually challenged Coleman Young to some fistacuffs on the air - we were dying laughing in front of the screen, as I recall.
with a "tale of the tape" segment where they compared Bill v Coleman physical characteristics! Awesome.
The film includes a clip from the 1980 Michigan-MSU game, which Michigan won, 27-23.
Nice way to go out watching my last MSU game as an undergrad.
Still from TBC:
2013
And, of course,
And, finally,
A classic. I'm sure in the back of my mind it somewhat influenced my decision to come to Michigan... yes sad, but true.
Kevin Costner and Jeff Goldblum happen to be my favorite actors, so naturally this is one of my favorite movies.
There is a 2 degrees of separation rule for BB drunk stories.
One of two movies in which a Michigan football game is playing on TV. Can anyone name the other? And does any other school have as many?

I went to a showing of Body Heat (Kathleen Turner....mmmm) and won tickets to the Ann Arbor premier of Big Chill in Angell Hall. Place erupted when they showed Bo. I also met Lawarence Kasden a little while after when he was on campus to talk to some classes. I'm sure it was memorable for him...
