Ben(ch) Mason presser. Possibly the best player presser I've eber seen.
This kid is an absolute gem. Winovich is a great interview but Ben might be my new favorite. The awkwardness, the eyeing reporters like he's looking for someone to hit between questions, the responses where reporters try to be funny and he totally doesn't get it at all, the while thing is awesome.

He may be the biggest meathead Michigan has had since Moosman
August 24th, 2018 at 12:16 AM ^
Careful my friend. Still waters run deep.
August 24th, 2018 at 12:21 AM ^
Haha, I was more referring to mannerisms than intelligence. I’ve met plenty of guys who spoke like total meatheads but were also very bright (don’t know if this is a coincidence, but the vast majority of them wound up becoming doctors)
August 24th, 2018 at 6:05 AM ^
This is just the way he is ... talking with kids , talking with teammates, sorta dealing with staff/fanboys like me. This is from working three camps with him. He sorta stares at you and through you at the same time, always with an impish grin on his face. He and Ben Bredeson were my favorites from camps--as in who you'd like to hang out with in their backyards with a beer while grilling.

Moosman wasn’t a meathead. He was the Illinois State Champion chess player. I think that disqualified him.

Being a meathead doesn't mean you aren't intelligent. The biggest meathead I know is a great orthopedic surgeon who is extremely smart.

Love the fly walking around his shirt at 4:40 to 5:00. Dude’s intense.
August 24th, 2018 at 6:52 AM ^
I was thinking that SOMEONE should say something or brush that off of him. They probably figured that he is so intense, he'd probably lay them out for touching him.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:32 AM ^
Unfazed by nature.
Perhaps related to the fly: it’s also very fullback of Mason to do the presser fresh off sprints instead of, say, showering or catching his breath first.

The mohawk, the twitchy eyebrow, and the death stare are all terrifying but he still somehow seems pretty mild mannered and polite lol. Fascinating.

“It’s called a faux-hawk”
Ben
August 24th, 2018 at 12:51 AM ^
Don’t forget that rockin’ Farmer’s tan he’s sporting as well.
August 24th, 2018 at 6:20 AM ^
Coach and Four for a haircut. They are still there! I may have to get over to Ann Arbor for fauxhawk!
I look forward to watching this guy play as much as any other.
August 24th, 2018 at 12:20 AM ^
He looks like he should be one of your squadmates in a first person shooter.
August 24th, 2018 at 12:41 AM ^
You were right. Crazy Eyes Mason is very entertaining.
August 24th, 2018 at 12:54 AM ^
Awesome. He’s the creepy older kid in a John Hughes movie.
murderface.
August 24th, 2018 at 12:57 AM ^
Super polite and patient. Purposeful in his delivery. I am not sure he is ready for playful banter. He is a weapon
I kept thinking about how many linebackers are going to shit their pants when they see him coming. I am glad he is on our side holy shit
August 24th, 2018 at 9:47 AM ^
Can imagine him getting elected captain in a couple years
August 24th, 2018 at 9:16 AM ^
well played - the first thing i thought was ‘rocked up travis bickle’
August 24th, 2018 at 9:22 AM ^
This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the video.
August 24th, 2018 at 1:05 AM ^
One of the things I hated about the Rich Rod era was how the other teams always looked bigger than us. That is no longer a concern, Ben Herbert has these guys jacked!
August 24th, 2018 at 1:23 AM ^
I mean this in the nicest way possible, he reminds me of Frito Pendejo. Is it possible he conducted that interview imitating Frito to win a bet? The resemblance is uncanny.
August 24th, 2018 at 1:44 AM ^
He looks ready to kill at a moment's notice. Harbaugh clearly forgot to input the code that turns off Football Rampage mode for the reporters.
August 24th, 2018 at 1:58 AM ^
Looking forward to him carrying some textbook hammering panda dives.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:04 AM ^
I love those 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 plays where Hill went in, and everyone on the defense knew that Hill was getting the ball, but he was going to get the first down and there wasn't a damn thing they could do about it.
August 24th, 2018 at 7:16 AM ^
Definitely not a chicken eater.
August 24th, 2018 at 7:49 AM ^
Offensive line looks "tremendous". It's like he knows just what we want to hear.
August 24th, 2018 at 8:21 AM ^
Lloyd Carr must have talked to the team recently.
August 24th, 2018 at 8:31 AM ^
When he said the offense is playing faster that can be a result of a more simplified scheme and better practice reps. This can be a really good thing for an offense and especially an OL.
August 24th, 2018 at 8:20 AM ^
Y’know, the thing about a fullback, he’s got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll’s eyes. When he comes after ya, he doesn’t seem to be livin’ until he hits ya, and those black eyes roll over white, and then – aww, then you hear that terrible high-pitch screamin’, the field turns red.
August 24th, 2018 at 8:56 AM ^
You're gonna need a bigger linebacker.
August 24th, 2018 at 9:57 AM ^
Bench Mason was always going to be a football player or Marine. Love this guy.
August 24th, 2018 at 7:06 PM ^
If you’re going into battle, this is the dude you want right next to you.
