Well, it sucks Michigan is out. But there’s always next year.

However there are a lot of games going on in many different conference tournaments.

correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe in the Big Ten Tournament the higher seed has only one 3 games?

Also MSU goes down, OSU still alive to make the NCAA tournament with a losing record.

Pretty crazy there was not much difference at all between teams 2-13. I honestly don’t see any team making it much further than the sweet 16. Maybe Purdue, but they always seem to choke once they make it there, so they are no sure bet.

While we hover vaguely between on-topic and off-topic, I'm curious if anyone has thoughts about the Big Ten national championship drought. (Purdue seems unlikely to change things.)

I've read that Big Ten refs allow such rough stuff that when teams get to the playoffs, they're stuck in beast mode.

D'ya think that's the reason?

Or luck?

Playing in cold weather?

Or, for the engineers here, are the gods of math punishing the Big Ten for having more than ten teams?

Of course, the B1G has had 7 separate teams make the Title Game since MSU won in 2000.  Any one of them wins, and this isn't really a topic.

Mostly bad luck, I'd argue (and bad calls by referees, yes, absolutely).  The odds of a coin landing heads 7 straight times is 1 in 128.  Roughly the same as a random American adult male being 6-foot-4 or taller.

I think it's the 1st time in 25 years I've seen a PSU coach being considered for another job!

PSU has a proven history of being cheap when it comes to basketball (actually, all sports that aren't football, including wrestling where Cael Sanderson wins annual titles and has had to fight battles for relative chump change).  So I don't expect PSU to pony up the $$$ when other schools come calling.

Buckeye fans were ready to help Holtmann pack up and move two weeks ago, now they look to be the team to beat next year, as this run is being done with mostly freshman and add in what they have coming next year.

Sparty Nooooo!

It's pretty much impossible to engage in much schadenfreude when we suck too, and especially when it's a contest between Sparty and The Cooler Poopers.
