Such a shame most of you are seeing these pitchers perform like this because they've been great all season. Being failed by coaching right now.
How many games did you go to where the bullpen put forth an effective game? You must have some first hand experiences to support this claim? Not including midweek BS games.
howd they do vs IU? Nebraska? Ohio St? Texas Tech? They played the bottom of the B1G all season due to scheduling quirks. They worked out of trouble all year long because eventually they got to a .225 or worse group of batters... those don’t exist here.
This was a weakness all year, but the starters are so good at shortening the game it was masked.

What I don't get is last inning bottom of the 3rd bases loaded 3-1 count... Our batter gets a gift. 78 mph fastball right down the middle the pitcher was just trying to make sure he threw a strike he basically could have underhand threw that ball and it be faster. and he watches it as he has no choice.
How in the biggest game of the year don't you give the hitter a choice in a 3-1 bases loaded? Any MLB player or hell any UCLA player would have put that over the right-field fence and laughed. Bad coaching bad calls
