B1G-ACC Challenge

Watching Purdon't - Miami (YTM).  I'm sure more to come - haven't checked the schedule.

Bummer M-NCSt is postponed, but I do love this annual battle.

Which games are you looking forward to seeing?

Sadly, Purdue had a big lead and is getting hosed in the last 8 minutes.  Multiple no-calls on YTM and close calls against PU.

nice job purdue. they have to be about the worst team in the big ten. i see perennial under achiever wheeler is still on that time and getting a lot of minutes. that dude has regressed every year.

Anyone remember the first several years of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge?

The Big Ten had 11 teams and the ACC only had 9.  So two Big Ten teams had to sit out every year.  And one of them was always one of the upper teams.  Kind of made it sting the several times the ACC won 5-4.

The B1G has really stepped it up the last dozen years.  Just need someone to win a national title.  So many years of being close but losing to arguably the better team (except undefeated Illinois).

I mean, even Rutgers is ranked.  And I bet the Mayor makes Nebraska respectable pretty soon.

Damn.  Ill already up 10 on Duke with FTs coming.  5 minutes in.

Duke also not looking very well coached.  I think Coach K has overstayed.

Pandemic adjusted.  UM plays Toledo which is much better than a Covid depleted NC State.  How does Kenpom make these 2020 adjustments ?

For me?  I like our bench depth in The pandemic

Strong finish by Rutgers after 'cuse took the lead.  Illinois looks real good.  B1G up 6-1.

Had Purdue held on to win, the B1G would have won the challenge on day 1.  I'm not sure that's ever happened.  Just have to win 1 tomorrow (2 if M still gets to play NCSt).

Iowa-NC was fun indeed.

Iowa is legit, yes, BUT Coach Fran does need to push the right buttons in the second half for this team to win, in terms of getting the right guys on the court at the right time. There are some serious defensive lapses with Iowa's team (but we all knew there would be). And I think that this might cost them a few games.

That said? The offensive weapons they have are outstanding. This game was truly won in the first half, when they went 50% from 3-point land (and that figure only "sagged" to 44% overall when all was said and done). If you hit 17 3s in a game, well...you've got a good chance to beat ANYBODY.

Iowa vs. Illinois is already a game I'm looking forward to seeing.
