Auburn Fans Confront the AD

Submitted by Glen Masons Hot Wife on
As most of you probably know, Auburn's apparently hired Gene Chizik, a man that went 5-19 in two seasons at Iowa State. The link below is of the Auburn fans letting Jacobs know how they feel, the second his private jet touches down. Classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7TxIMAwc1k

can't say i disagree with anything that guy was saying. any of those people would be better candidates than gene "i went 5-19 in two years at ISU" chizik. IMO of course.

at first i was dissapointed it was only one guy instead of like 100 but then i decided its really funny that one auburn fan was so angry that he went and heckled his own AD by himself

30 years out the door. How do we feel? This is a stupid hire. How far are we from the muck and the mire. Curb your enthusiam.

Look at the link for yourself on espn. He was talking about how he is great for the next face of the program and how he played a big part of their 12-0 season as their d-coordinator. Also, they are good friends so Herby is being wayyy biased.

I'm sort of sad. I like Auburn, because they (on good days) strangle the life out of opposing offenses and didn't seem to overly subscribe to "ESS EEE SEE SPEED" or "the SEC is and always has been the greatest conference period" myths. Plus they've been such sinister season-destroyers for promising SEC teams in the past. Personally, I hope Auburn finds some success with Chizik, at least so Ed Pastilong at WVU maintains his stranglehold on the position of "worst hire under pressure".

Alright though, let's be honest, if you take away his career at ISU and only looked at his experience/success as a defensive coordinator, then we'd likely say it is a much better hire. The guy DID do a good job at Auburn/Texas in regards to defense, and so maybe it's just the fact that NO ONE will have success at ISU. Certainly there were probably better choices, but it's not inconceivable that they did this.

Iowa State has had 10 winning seasons in 40 years lol @ video. Auburn's AD clearly had his feathers ruffled. props to random yelling dude

That's a little misleading. ISU had actually had something like five winning seasons in the previous six years under McCarney. (Why they forced McCarney out is a real mystery.) They regularly beat Iowa head-to-head. Their program was in respectable enough shape to attract Chizik - who, at the time, was one of the hottest assistants in the country. No one saw a 5-19 collapse coming.
