Anyone have pics from front rows?

Submitted by hazardc on
Ended up picking up some row b tickets,....now I know b isn't a, but they're Michigan sideline section 24. I've never been this close to the field AND along the sideline. My own justification is getting in on the harbaugh bet when it was a longshot and cashing out after a max bet.. (I assume a lot of people here got in on it) Both my friend and I are about 6' even... Is it hard to see over the people on the sideline in rows a and b? This is one thing left unconsidered before purchase. Whoopsie! That said, I read an old thread on here and some members mentioned having row a and b seats. Any game time pics? Greatly appreciated. Can't wait to be there for he first home game of the harbaugh era.

No, your view over the people on the field will be clear (except for maybe the first few feet from the sideline). Sitting in your seat you'll probably be a good 10 feet above the field.

[editted to remove something I got wrong about the order of the rows]

I once went to a Maryland game and it was basically the opposite - the first 10 or so rows you couldn't see the field because you were behind the players. Those tickets ended up being really cheap on StubHub and we found out later why

Edit: just to be clear, I'm talking about the stadium at Maryland, not the Big House

Been 45 yard line 11th behind Michigan's bench and they cover the out of bounds line and a few yards out from there. Looking further down I would want to sit any closer than 10 rows. Hope it works out for ya.

Sat on the visitors bench sideline in row B once. I was a kid (WSU 93), but even as an adult, probably wouldn't do it again. Then again, that was before video boards. You're still in the stadium.

I sat in section 24 row A for 10 years.  You can see over the players heads.  The field is sunk about 6 feet.  No picures handy, sorry.  You'll just have trouble seeing the near sideline on the other half of the field.  The biggest problem for me was the game day staff that sit or stand at the top of the stairs going to down to the field.

I was in either row B or 1 for Iowa a couple of years ago. It was cool. I'm about the same height as you and don't recall any problems. The gate at the bottom of the steps has a dropoff of about 6 feet or so down to the field level so the people on the sidelines won't block very much of your view at all. It may be tough to see some of the play on that side of the field when it's directly in front of you, but most of the time you'll be fine.

And, since it sounds like this is your first time being so close, enjoy it. You have a rare chance to watch and hear Harbaugh and the other coaches up close (and without Brandon prowling around on the sidelines).

My first ever Michigan game was against EMU in 09 I think and we sat section 24 Row B.  I thought the seats were awesome.  Sure you lose a little visibility but if you havent ever sat there, its cool to be that cloe to the team.

You will be just fine.

I have a good picture from UTL2 but I do not have a hosting account on any site to share.  It is a different view from down there.  I end up watching the video monitors for ~50% of the game.

I sat with the recruits for the last win against OSU. My wife and I had to stand on the bleachers to see but everyone was doing that. Got a fist bump from Hoke when we rushed the field.

and they're awesome...but they are in section 20, at about the 5 yard line. When the game is at the other end, I'm looking over the M sideline, and can't see anything, but I still love them because of how good they are when the play is at the South end zone. I was in those seats for Desmond's Heisman pose, and some other awesome things...So, there are not great things about being close, and some really great things about being close.

Section 24, row B?  Those are some amazingly great seats.

I've sat in row 1, section 34 (north end zone) several times before the student section was expanded in 2011.  It's not as ideal as watching from left to right but it's epic being that close to the field.  From those seats I got a closeup view of Tom Brady throwing TD passes to Marcus Knight against Northwestern, Chad Henne's unexpected first start as a freshman when Matt Gutierrez was injured, and I had a clear up close view of Joe Paterno pacing the sidelines and I was amazed that Penn State was STILL using him as eye candy when he wasn't making any attempt to coach.

And then there was this awful game to start the 2007 season which I had a smack dab row 1 seat to witness...I'm STILL trying to block that one out.

TV on a delay, could watch a lot of the replays right after the play was over.
