Anthony Campanile not listed as a coach on the Miami Dolphin coaching staff

Anthony Campanile is not found on the MiamiDolphins.com coaches roster page. Nor is his name found anywhere on DolphinsWire.USAToday.com. (https://dolphinswire.usatoday.com/)

Was he hired as some kind of off field assistant? Or, are they slow to update the roster page? Or, was he never hired? The only thing that ever said he was hired by the Dolphins was "multiple reports".

In his most recent interview on new coaching hires, head coach, Brian Flores, didn't bring up his name:

Here's the current roster at this link:

Something of note: Curt Kuntz (assistant DB coach) was a high school coach, with no NFL experience, before being hired by Brian Flores.

Is it really a big deal if he doesn't land there or if they just haven't updated the site? He's gone. He worked here a single year. Who cares what happens to him

Maybe Harbaugh gave him a firm handshake because the guy wasn't fully committed. The report says he was offered the BC D-Coordinator job, but it didn't really sound like it happened, and who can blame him for not taking the Rutgers job. He was here for a year, so maybe we all thought it was a good fit, but maybe it really wasn't.

I don't know about the fully committed part, but it sounds like Harbaugh gave him the Pep treatment for sure. Some people just don't fit in an organization. It's not always because they are bad people, it's just fit.

Whatever it was it doesn't matter now. Harbaugh and Don Brown didn't have any trouble replacing their defensive assistant losses.

Campanile probably told harbaugh he’s going to dolphins to leave Michigan.  But his plan was to be added to staff at Ohio state and be a key contributor to out recruit us and backdoor hire from day.

Not sure I really care.  I don't mind that he looked at DC spots - that's a clear promotion to senior football staff.  He wanted to sniff the Giants position coach business.  When that was blocked, he found another NFL position coach spot.  He clearly wanted out of Ann Arbor, so good luck to him.  It'll be interesting to see where he shows up next, but I won't lose sleep over it...

It’s even more odd than that - he didn’t just look at two DC jobs.  He got offered and turned down at least one DC position (and likely both) which included an enormous raise to come back to Ann Arbor.

Only then to take off for a lateral (or worse) NFL job.  There is some piece of information that we are missing here.  In the end, whatever, you need to have coaches that want to be here.

What was even weirder was how the main page of this site was rending garments over losing him -- and I was like, "Didn't he just join UM? How is he irreplaceable or even difficult to replace? Did he recruit a bunch of 4 or 5 stars that I missed?"

He seem(ed) to be a good coach/recruiter, but nothing remarkable. The Campanile era at UM was a whopping 1 year and 4 days. We will solider on without him.

Probably weasel his way back to college. To hell with him. I hope Harbaugh runs the score up on him if he gets the chance.

Maybe the Giants got back into it ... check the smoke there.  That was the story line all along.  Maybe the Dolphins were just the pawn to reopen that door.

I don't know what it is about those photos but they feel like CGI.  Its probably the artificially white background and lack of obvious lighting on the coaches faces.

Coincidentally Chan Gailey, whom Brian Jean-Mary worked under for years at Georgia Tech, is their OC.

As BroadneckBlue21 noted above (please plus him) Campanile hasn't been announced officially. They're probably working out the details of his contract still.

I miss the good old days (pre-internet) where I only knew the HC, DC, OC and perhaps one or two other members of the coaching staff.  For decades, well-regarded position coaches have left to become coordinators at other programs, but back in the day, nobody knew who they were so it wasn't a big deal.  Obviously, there are position coaches that would be huge losses.  Perhaps Partridge, because of his recruiting ability, is one of those.  But Campanile was here for all of a year, and I'm not sure what makes his move much of a loss, if any.

My guess is that he got a better offer since hiring on with Miami and all parties concerned are looking for a nice, easy, behind-the-scenes resolution to the situation.
