I don't know why OSU doesn't put more effort into getting him, they offered him, but don't seem to be as hot on him as Corley and a few others. Mitchell was clearly one of the best at FNL, but all signs point to him being a wolverine at this point.

As much as I dislike urbz the person like most people on this blog, I am not sure what "downfall" you are talking about at Florida?  Man won 2 NC - ok, 1 was with Zook's players, but the other was with his and the year after that he went 13-1 and a #3 ranking; yes he did go 8-5 after that and had his "health issues", but we would love to have his type on downfall.

Well Urban has just about said that himself. They were great players, but they didnt fit the culture of his program. You had entitled freshman boycotting practice and criminals on the team. Yea they were good at football but there was no control in the locker room.

Sorry, but no recruit is going to make or break Michigan on his own.  Harbaugh is going to "get " enough of the kids he needs: tough, athletic kids who want to play for Michigan.

Thanks for the clarification Tater. It's my opinion we need a kid with his skillset. Not to mention I prefer not losing a talent like this to OSU. I'm in the trust Harbaugh implicitly camp so no need to throw that at me. I know he will get what he needs in the big picture. Mitchell is a short term "need" IMO. WR recruiting hasn't been great in some time.

Is FNL an Urban thing? Or did OSU have it before him.  That looks like a ton of people if that amount of players were just hanging around one drill.

p.s. as I saw the clips I scrolled over onto the sidebar and here is an interesting one on somebody we barely have heard about.   Crystal balls had this as a FSU v Bama battle.

Wolverines Soar Into Keyshawn Young's Top Two

http://www.scout.com/college/football/recruiting/story/1566581-wolverin…

In just a month, Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines have gained ground and reserved a spot in Keyshawn Young's top two, joining the Alabama Crimson Tide out of the SEC. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver out of Miami scooped up a Michigan offer late last month, and says both schools are neck and neck sailing into his senior campaign.

"As of right now, (Alabama is) on top and it's between them and Michigan," Young said. "Official (visits) will be when the season starts and I'm still planning that out. I can't wait to visit both"

"Michigan just shows me so much love," Young said. "I think coach Harbaugh is going to turn that team around and be playing for a championship. He's a very nice guy and I love talking to him. He's coming hard at me."

Its because he's 5'11. They rarely rate small guys as 4-stars since they reserve those for guys they can envision playing in the NFL, regardless of how effective they can be in the college game. Gallon is a great example. The services would have been correct to rate him 4 stars but his height made him a 3-star.

Obviously a 4* athlete, but he was a HS GB who was going to have to change positions. He didn't even become a starter here until his 4th season and wasn't a star until he was a 5th year SR. Good thing RR didn't burn his RS for special teams.

I agree.  By my count, there are 55 four-star WRs in this year's 247 composite rankings and 50 of them are at least 6 feet tall.  The only way I ever really see recruiting sites evaluated is by how well their rankings predicted NFL draft status.  In terms of college productivity, I'd guess that they tend to overrate kids with NFL bodies who might take a long time to develop as players and underrate kids likely to be productive in college but unappealing to the NFL.
