Rankings factor in quantity and OSU has a small class this year. Their average/recruit rating is again higher than most - including ours.  The down side: with a small class, they return a ton talent - especially both of those monster 2017 & 2018 classes. While I'm enjoying our signing day success, I also want to be realistic.

Should be enough to beat OSU's class.  This is our first OSU victory for JH over OSU with Day.  Hopefully it transfers to the field and shifts the balance of power back a bit.

At this point I'll take anything.  When is the last time we had a higher class ranking?  Even the few years we did 1) varied depending on service you used and 2) was by one class ranking.  The last time we had a class 10 spots higher than them was like '06.  I wouldn't underestimate that.

This is a pretty bad comparison. Most of Day’s recruits are Urban’s. Plus Urban is retiring after winning the Big Ten and barely missing out on the playoffs. Plus Day was named the HC in early Dec. Plus Day is a college coach and was already recruiting. Harbaugh took over for Hoke who finished 5-7, was just coming from the NFL, and was hired on Dec. 30th. Of course Days transition class will be better.

Far better?  Do you consider two tenths of a point far better (.90 vs .92)?  Even if you did your logic assumes they could sign 10 more guys of equal rating.

It would be more similar to compare our top 13 guys to their 13 signees.  They have 13 guys signed so far and their lowest ranked guy is currently Cormontae Hamilton at .8687 (247).  Our 13th guy is David Ojabo at .8998.

A quick Sparty update:

Say what you want against Scum, but they are doing something right, just got Hill back from Bama...they are in another league than we are when it comes to recruiting...

Meanwhile we lose a guy to Rutgers, can’t ckose a guy from Kentucky, GA Tech, and Illinois...that’s the state of the program right now...sad but true

Paging Shawn to chime in on this one-- can we just ban the guy already? The last week of this board has been a hellscape with all the hawt takes of negativity

Such a huge get. Exact type of player Michigan has lacked since...don't even know. And exactly what the team needs to compete with OSU's athletes on offense.

Now, if just one of Long and Hill could be convinced to stay one more year....

UM doesn't need the #1 or #2 class to win but it does need to be in the top 10 every year if it wants to knock off OSU and compete in the playoffs.

Really stoked about this class! I was thinking the last game would cost us on recruiting. But with Michigan sending D guys pro its a great draw for talent. Now if we see greater passing % out of the offense, perhaps JH keeps the recruits coming!
