2016 Masters Final Round

Submitted by Mojave Gold on

Winds have died down.  Many more players are under par for today's round.  This should be a good finish.  I'm rooting for Langer as he's an old guy.

around a 12 and I have played holes that make Spieth at the 12th look like a masterpiece.  I mean, come on, you are a 12 and you have never done that?  I have played numerous holes where I just stopped counting.  It was shocking to see a pro play a hole like that but to say that has never happened to you?  Huh?

Yikes. That was certainly a meltdown. Credit to that British dude for playing a great final round.

Greller was a middle school math teacher when he met Spieth at a junior tournament, moonlighting.  Spieth needs more than a buddy who pats him on the head.  There is an article in Golf magazine about Charley Hoffman crediting changing caddies when he won $4 mil in 2014.

the competitive focus. What he does to play so well. EVERYONE thought he had it wrapped up. He probably did too and he let go of the reins a bit. Then the course rose up and bit him.

but there is something to be said for the post you responded to.  On two occasions it appeared that Spieth had the thing absolutely in the bag.  Going to 17 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday.  The two times during the tournament when I stopped watching because "this thing is over."  He went bogie/double to finish on Saturday and then did what he did on Sunday.  I think there is something to be said for him just letting his guard down, not to say that it's not a choke but there are some different elements to it.  It really does show you the difference between Tiger Woods and other great pros.  He would have been going to the 10th yesterday considering how he could further embarrass the rest of the field in the remaining holes.  It is clear that Spieth relaxed a little bit and that is what happens.

Theon Greyjoy wins the Masters!  I didn't think he had the "Big Stick" in his bag to win a major?

Another brilliant MLB move.  Opening Day in Boston, low 40's and raining.  Hope the line is short at the Cask!
