2009 Depth Chart

Submitted by McFarlin on
I know we have a long way before we need to think about this but I'm bored and I want to hear some good opinions on what you think our 2009 depth chart should look like. This is all your opinions. No right or wrong answer here. I think the depth chart will be as such..... Sorry if I spell some names wrong! QB - Forcier/Robinson/Cone/Feagin/Brown/Sheridan HB - Minor/Shaw/Cox/Smith/Brown/Toussaint FB - Moundros/Grady WR - Hemmingway/Matthews/Stonum/Stokes/Roundtree/Gordon Slot - Robinson/Odoms/Jones/Gallon TE - Koger/Moore OL - Too many to list. I don't know much about the O-line. DT - Campbell/Martin DE - Graham/VanBergen/Roh OLB - Demens/Mouton/Brown/Bell ILB - Ezeh/Fitzgerald/ CB - Cissoko/Warren/Turner/Williams/Wolfolk FS - Brown?/Emilien SS - Smith/Jones K - Gibbons P - Mesko PR - Robinson/Toussaint KR - Robinson/Toussaint

It turns out you don't know much about anything. Moore isn't in the mix at TE, really. It's between Koger and Webb. Which Robinson is going to return kicks - Denard or Terrence? Williams plays safety, not corner. Why is Sheridan last on your depth chart? Why is Carlos Brown fifth on your depth chart? Savoy started games last year, and now he's not even on your depth chart? This sucks.

Umm RR mentioned Moore in interviews a few times. He is very much in this race. Read up at the top. MY OPINION! Terrence will return kicks. Sheridan is last because he sucks ass. Carlos brown is 5th because it is supposed to be an insult to Sheridan. I can tell you have no IQ whats so ever. My bad about Savoy. I forgot about him. YOU FUCKING SUCK!

Oh McFarlin, you're cute sometimes. Magnus has no IQ whats so ever because he didn't get your unfunny joke about Sheridan being behind everyone on the depth chart? RR had him running the first team O before his injury. You must know stuff he doesn't.

Honestly I cannot answer that one. Cone is too slow, Faegin is fast but doesn't have a good enough arm. Maybe he just has an orgie over Sheridan. I don't get it. He has already proven that he sucks. Give someone else a chance.

Sheridan is not last on the QB depth chart. I don't think anyone is behind Cone, for starters. Secondly, he's the only QB with any game experience, and I would put him at second coming into the summer, and perhaps third if Denard picks up the offense REALLY FAST.

Hmm.. Stonum will prob be the top WR. Word on streets is, hes been the best WR so far in spring making great catches from Tate.

I think Hemingway ends up being the best outside WR with Stonum and Matthews contributing nicely. Let me clarify that. Our most consistent WR I think ends up being Matthews, a great 3rd down receiver. Hemingway will be our big play guy on the outside with Stonum complimenting the two nicely. On the inside Odems has to be the guy. TRob was making great strides before he got hurt last Fall but I haven't heard much from him since. I think they will try and get Vincent Smith on the field as much as possible and with Minor and Brown in the backfield the slot may be where he ends up. I can see him getting quite a few bubble screens and jet sweeps. Give the jitterbug the rock in space.

I don't think getting Vincent Smith on the field a lot is a good thing. I mean don't get me wrong, the kid is quick and shifty. Great talent. But for real man. 5 foot 6 and 160 pounds is tiny. I think he should redshirt and get bigger first. McGuffie got picked up and tossed around. This kid will get killed out there. If they don't redshirt him then maybe a few times a game he should play. But NOT a lot right now.

As a HS football coach I have seen many smaller players who go out and dominate without getting hurt. Mcguffie had a history of injuries before he enrolled. He also ran very high, from the film I've seen on Smith he seems like he runs with very low pad level, utilizing his size to hide behind the line and also knowing when to go down and avoid the big hit a la any colts receiver ever. Odoms had similar size (5-8 170) and put up together one of the best freshman receiving seasons in Um's history. If VSmith doesn't see the field I hope it is due to him being beat out in competition, not because of concerns regarding his size.

If Sheridan ever steps a foot on a football field again I will stop watching football. The kid is a joke of a QB. I dont care if he has game ex. He has game ex of sucking ass. That doesn't exactly make him good. I would take a TALENTED Qb like Tate with little game ex over Nick death Sheridan. BOTTOM LIME Game ex at sucking = No REAL game ex For you guys to stick up for the kid is sad. You must not have much common sense. Did you see him last year? WOW.

I think you should get e-tough with Sheridan. Go onto the BOOK OF FACE, find Sheridan's profile and challenge him to an e-duel right before the WMU game. Give him an e-punch through the intertubes, just to give him a taste. Then, on the big day, you can take care of business and be sure that Sheridan will never see the field. You'll be a hero! Now please do not read what I'm about to write below. I'm going to have to implement the honor code here, and I expect you to abide by it, mister. (To anyone else that may be reading this. We HAVE to get Sheridan on the field. WE HAVE TO! Help him practice, take exams for him, juice him up, temporarily detain the other QBs, whatever. I fear this is the only way to get McFarlin to stop posting. If he stops watching football, he won't have much reason to post here anymore. I...I just don't know what else to do.)

I don't see anyone here saying Sheridan should be starting. I do see people trying to stop people from bashing Sheridan. From the accounts I have heard, it sure seems Sheridan is a hard working kid with little talent. Yeah, no one wants to see him starting, but he's out there working hard, and I wish him the best. Hell, I admire him. He knows he doesn't have UM level talent, but he still goes out there and works hard. Yet you bash him, like you are better than him somehow. Easy to say that from your living room chair while he's out there working to get better, eh? For the team you cheer for, no less. You should be ashamed.

Worse poster: Craven Morehead or McFarlin? I'm going with McFarlin, because I keep reading it as "MacFarlane" and think of how King of the Hill was cancelled on Fox to make room for another Family Guy spin-off. Ugh.

It's almost like apples and oranges. Craven was just annoying. He posted all the douchey pictures and was just immature and annoying. It was like he just wanted attention. This kid, I don't know where to start. I feel bad making fun of him in fear that he's a kid or has a learning disability or something, and it's not nice for an adult to make fun of someone like that. But then he just keeps going. It's funny when a 5 year old kicks you in the balls, but then you tell him to stop. If the 5 year old keeps kicking you in the balls, you have to do something about it.

McFarlin...if you want people to stop giving you shit you need to reanalyze your rationale a bit. It may be true that Sheridan has hit a ceiling as a division 1 quarterback, but he actually has proven on the field that with the little talent he has he can be slightly effective (look at the Minnesota game). Yes we all know that his arm is weak and he doesn't have great mobility, but he seems to make enough good decisions that Coach Rodriguez thinks he should be in the mix. No one is saying here that they think Sheridan is our quarterback of the future and none of us are even saying that we would like to see him on the field come the fall, but him being injured no way helps this football team. Coach Rodriguez says he wants competition at every position and when Sheridan is not healthy the competition at the quarterback position is weaker. If you want Tate to learn more and be a better quarterback then it is vital to have someone else competing against him and pushing him to be better with every rep.

Robinson Red Shirts will be - RB Jones, Smith WR Gordon, Stokes, Gallon OL Lewan, Schofield, and Washington DE LoLata LB Hawthorne DB Jones Witty Added note: -I would prefer Toussaint to red shirt but we need him returning Kicks -The OL there are so many options yet so few! This is just my opinion.

Mike Williams is still not a corner, he is a safety. And I think JB Fitz starts at SAM and probably also backs up Ezeh at MIKE which would bring in Demens probably at SAM. No way Gallon redshirts, very doubtful that Stokes does, V Smith as well. Toussaint is not in the top 5 to return kicks or punts, IMO.

shit i copied and pasted the other one, and IMO fixed it but forgot about CB. -Williams to FS out at CB -Besides T. Rob who would you have return kicks? -about Grady being ahead of Brown I guess that's a Little Biased since I knew Grady in HS. Plus personally don't think Brown will stay healty.
